Ski-Cabin Cooking
If you're renting a cabin for a week of skiing this winter, be sure to pack a slow cooker. You can put the ingredients for a hearty chili, chicken stew or braised lamb shanks in the cooker before heading off to the slopes. When you return, your one-pot meal will be ready. Just toss a green salad and set out a loaf of crusty bread. Then open a bottle of wine and savor a warming dinner in front of the fireplace.
