Almost everyone is familiar with tapas, the Spanish small plates that are perfect for snacking on while drinking a glass of Rioja, but fewer have had the pleasure of eating petiscos, their close cousins from Portugal. Whether petiscos are made from fresh seafood from the shores of Portugal or come in the simple form of olives or fried polenta called milho frito, they make a delicious (and unexpected) menu for a casual dinner party.
