And thanks to an automatic drip-stop feature, it's easy to grab a quick cup before the cycle completes. Hand made and individually tested in the Netherlands, this legendary European machine brews directly into an insulated steel carafe, so coffee stays fresh and piping hot.
- This precision machine quietly brews one of the world's finest pots of coffee in just 4 to 6 minutes.
- Operation couldn't be simpler–just fill the brew basket, add water and press the power switch.
- Automatic drip-stop temporarily stops the machine so you can pour a cup before the brewing cycle is finished.
- Special copper heating element keeps water temperature at a consistent 200°F throughout brewing for optimal flavor and less bitterness.
- An innovative 9-hole spray arm disperses the water over the entire grind for a remarkably even soak prior to extraction.
- Copper lining along the spray arm keeps the water temperature consistent throughout the wetting stage.
- To ensure a precise coffee/water contact time, a cone-shaped brew basket funnels the grind to the perfect bed depth.
- Insulated stainless-steel carafe has a Brew-Thru lid that's scientifically designed to minimize heat loss and maintain perfect temperature during brewing.
- The thermal carafe also includes a convenient travel lid for superb coffee on the go.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Retired Exchef from A real quality machine I purchased this coffee machine 4 years ago. As a professional chef and European background, I really respect the quality. Those who complain really don’t use it properly,or try to alter the use its made for. Done properly it makes a great batch of quality coffee. Just follow instructions and don’t change the process of how to brew a proper carafe of coffee. Just be patient. The outcome is a quality finish to enjoy. Plus, you pay what you desire, just trust the machine. And, the coffee is extremely hot, and I have the thermo pot, used 4 years Ann still going strong. Good brewing!Date published: 2018-12-18Rated 5 out of 5 by Kurt from Excellent Coffee Maker I have been using this model of Technivorm coffee maker for years. It produces great coffee. The only variation I do is to let the filter cone fill up - say 2/3's the way- to thoroughly wet the grounds, and then stir them (with a chopstick) and then open the cone to start dripping. It has outlasted some of the previous coffeemaker I have owned.Date published: 2018-12-04Rated 5 out of 5 by RMit from Excellent coffee every time! We've had this coffee maker for just over a year. We brew two full carafes a day, sometimes three. I don't think that most people understand that pouring hot coffee into a cold stainless steel carafe is going to cool the coffee quite a bit. The first thing I do in the morning is to fill the carafe with hot water. Then I grind the beans and place the grinds into a pre-wet filter. Then I brew the coffee. After hundreds of uses, the filter basket has never overflowed. If yours does then either you are grinding the coffee too fine or you don't have the filter switch open. We are extremely happy with the coffee that this machine brews. It's the best we've owned, even better than our Bunn.Date published: 2018-04-10Rated 5 out of 5 by Ditto from Never a Problem I have owned this coffemaker for at least five years and we love it! We grind our own bean and we do use RO water. It always makes the perfect cup. I've been through so many coffeemakers over the years and I would definitely purchase a Technivorm againDate published: 2017-11-16Rated 3 out of 5 by mum48 from Will cost you more in the end Let it be known I am not a coffee connoisseur. I enjoy a clean cup of fresh ground black coffee that isn't bitter. The Moccamaster fulfills that for me. To my disappointment though, as I was reading through the instruction booklet I came across the note: "We do not recommend reverse osmosis or distilled water as it may damage the brewer's boiling element". In bold face it says to fill with fresh filtered or bottled cool water. What?! No where in all of the research I have done on coffee makers does it say this - until I purchased it! I live in Arizona and our water is very hard. We use RO water because it is cheaper, but still tastes good. Looking closely at the labels on bottled water, I noticed several companies use the RO process! Read carefully! Now there is the added cost of bottled water. Upon further reading in the instruction manual, it suggests using only the Moccamaster oxygen whitened filters and not brown unbleached filters for the best flavored coffee. More money... Then upon reading further - it says not to clean your coffee maker with vinegar and water - use a special descaling powder you purchase on-line! It recommends descaling the pot every 100 cycles (one box of the filters). There are only 2 descaling packets per box. More money.... I spent a great deal of time researching coffee makers on-line. No where did I find this information that not only would this coffee maker cost a great deal of money - but there is an additional amount of money to be spent on water, filters, and cleaning! There is one tiny bit of this extra cleaning cost listed here under details, and that is they also recommend purchasing Cleancaf by Urnex to clean the carafe! More money! I do enjoy a good cup of coffee, but if I had known there would be extra purchases that have to be made on a monthly or weekly basis (water) I would have thought twice about purchasing this product. It would have been cheaper to buy an automatic drip coffee maker and toss it once it stopped producing a good cup of coffee. Several reviews state the carafe does not keep the coffee as hot as the company claims and that is true - the carafe does cool the coffee quickly, even if it is pre-warmed before brewing.Date published: 2017-07-16Rated 3 out of 5 by coffeelover from GOOD NOT GREAT! I bought this about 2 years ago and it never brewed really hot coffee (even when preheating the pot with boiling water). It is an OK coffee maker but not worth the price.Date published: 2017-06-04Rated 5 out of 5 by VigII from 3 Year Owner Review-Excelent! Always excellent brew that holds for hours at the right temperature. I can only guess quality complaints weren't the norm; I & my son’s family have had none in three years of daily use w/2 units. A great machine for those that just want coffee or performing the Gold Cup method for each pot. Stop reading here or read on for my Gold Cup impression. I’m a coffee fanatic and do Gold Cup steps each brew. Before each pot, I run 250 mLs of water through the system. This does 3 things; warms the boiler, rinses the filter paper simultaneously warming the filter housing, and preheats the thermal carafe. Not necessary but the effort pays off yielding a consistently top notch cup. The thermal stability of the Technivorm Mochamaster make the repeatability possible. The simplicity of the design allows one to interact with the brewing if you want to adhere to Gold Cup methodology. It’s THE machine if you need to make that perfect tasting dark aromatic emulsion many of us want throughout the day.Date published: 2016-11-06Rated 1 out of 5 by mmcr from Poor design and poor quality This coffee maker is very badly designed with too many separate parts that are cheaply made and a pain to fit together every time you want to use it. Then once the coffee is made and you want to pour it in a cup, it spills everywhere because it doesn't even have a spout for pouring. The coffee tastes good, but it uses a lot more ground coffee than my older coffee maker to make an equal amount of brewed coffee and keeps it hot for a far shorter period of time. It is poorly designed with flimsy lightweight material. It is such a disappointment that I am throwing it out and replacing it with another brand after having it for a relatively short time.Date published: 2016-09-09
