Hanukkah, the Festival of Lights, commemorates the rededication of the Temple of Jerusalem some 2,100 years ago. For eight successive evenings, Jewish families light candles to mark that event. Especially on the first and last nights, they gather together to feast and give gifts. In observation of Jewish dietary laws, we kept the menu free of any dairy ingredients.
