When we have houseguests for the holidays, we love to serve them homemade treats for breakfast or brunch, but who wants to get up at the crack of dawn to start cooking while the rest of the house is sleeping in? That’s why we love this eggnog-flavored French toast, which can be assembled the night before and popped into the oven when you wake up. For a larger crowd, make yogurt in advance as well (it can be made in an Instant Pot if you don’t have a yogurt maker), and serve it with homemade granola that you can prepare up to 10 days in advance. (Make a double batch while you’re at it; it makes a great hostess gift.) And flavorful apple and sausage patties are a great alternative to ready-made sausages. Just mix the handful of ingredients and shape them into patties the night before, and quickly fry them up in the morning.
