Valentine's Day Dinner for Two

A French bistro meal for two by candlelight is one of the most romantic ways to celebrate Valentine’s Day. It’s even more romantic when you serve it at home, where you don’t have to deal with the crowds and high prices that come with one of the most popular days of the year for dining out. Nothing starts off a dinner on a more festive note than some bubbly, so begin with a Champagne cocktail garnished with pomegranate seeds. Then move on to the bistro classic of roast chicken, here served with roast grapes for a subtle sweetness. A frisée salad tossed with bacon and warm dressing and topped with a poached egg is a classic accompaniment (simply divide the recipe the two), as are macarons, crisp cookies surrounding a luscious chocolate ganache.
