In addition to looking and tasting great, this bright orange juice is chock full of nutrient-rich ingredients. Carrots are not only good for your eyesight, but they also support gut health. Apples, meanwhile, can help protect your lungs from oxidative damage, and they contain lots of fiber. Limes are rich in vitamin C, which can play a role in skin health and is important for immunity, because the body cannot produce this vitamin on its own. And turmeric has many health benefits thanks to its active ingredient, curcumin, which is a powerful antioxidant, especially when paired with black pepper.

Ingredients:

  • 1 apple, cored and cut into thin slices
  • 6 large carrots, peeled and cut into thirds
  • 2 thumb-length pieces of fresh turmeric, peeled
  • 2 limes, halved
  • Black pepper

Directions:

Set up your Pure Juicer: Insert grid #8 or #10 into the juicer, and place a bowl and a cloth-lined strainer under the feed tube. Add the apple pieces through the feed tube pushing them through with your wand; the mash will fall in the cloth. Repeat with the carrots and turmeric. Divide the mash between multiple cloths, 1 cup per cloth. Place the lime halves over top. Fold up the cloths and stack them on top of the Pure press. Turn the knob to the right and press slowly until no more liquid is coming out of the cloths. Refold if needed and press one more time. Whisk in a few grinds of black pepper. Serve or store for up to 1 week. Makes 24 fl. oz. (750 ml) of juice.
