Homekeeping Sale

Everybody loves a sale, and when there’s a homekeeping sale at Williams-Sonoma, it’s time to take a look at our selections. Baskets, aprons, hand lotions, trivets and kitchen towels are just a few types of items you might find. Plan ahead for birthday gifts and start holiday shopping early. And don’t forget to treat yourself to something too. If you’ve been wanting to update your decor or redo a room, now is a good time.

Jazz up your kitchen with a new tablecloth or a runner on the kitchen table. Replace old dishes with new porcelain plates and bowls in brilliant colors. Trade out old worn out pots and pans for shiny new ones with matching lids. Throw out old dish towels and replace them with clean and bright kitchen towels.

Update your dining room with a gorgeous live centerpiece on the table for a natural, decorative focal point. A dwarf pomegranate or juniper bonsai stays green and is easy to prune. It creates an artful table decor with Asian influence. Change out drainage stones in colors to fit the seasons for some variety. Or plant succulents in a decorative bowl or dish and use it as a low maintenance centerpiece. Real plants give life to a room, so you can really add plants to every room to liven up the whole house.

Extend your living space outdoors to enjoy a little of Mother Nature. Create a beer garden atmosphere with a quaint table and chairs. A galvanized metal tabletop is durable out in the elements but also adds some character. All you need is some natural trees and plants and, of course, beer. Use the table for dining alfresco. Citronella candles will keep the bugs away. Or include a vase of eucalyptus branches for a natural bug repellent. Your guests will want to linger for endless fun and conversation in a relaxed environment.

Stock the bar for entertaining friends and neighbors. A mounted bottle opener is handy and works well on a porch or deck, so guests can open their own beer when they want it. Place a cooler nearby for convenience. Keep a cocktail shaker on hand for mixing up martinis. Use a jigger for accurate measuring and a muddler for making mojitos. And you might want to keep a corkscrew on hand for the wine drinkers.

For long-term beer and wine storage, consider some of these options. A wine cellar keeps wine properly chilled. All you need is an electric outlet to plug it in. The wine cellars can be stored out of the way in a closet or basement. They are attractive, so they can also be kept out on a buffet in the dining room or on the kitchen counter. If you prefer, you might want to use elegant wine racks that store wine at room temperature. These can be situated in a dining room, bar area or a kitchen. For beer, you might want the indoor or outdoor single draft dispenser. One style has wheels for ease in mobility. Or try the keg that holds 13 12-ounce bottles to have keg beer that is perfect for a party.

Get rid of old, dirty doormats and spiff up your entrances with welcoming doormats. The mats will keep some of the dust, dirt, rain and snow outside of your house. Choose a monogrammed style to personalize the mats. Each doorway could use a doormat, not just the front door. This will ensure less mess trekked into your house, so less cleaning to do. And you can welcome your backdoor neighbor just as you can welcome a front door guest.
