Winter Salads
Although summer's juicy tomatoes and crisp cucumbers are now a distant memory, you will still find plenty of seasonal ingredients for creating vibrant winter salads. Chicories, such as endive and radicchio, cabbages, citrus fruits and apples are all plentiful this time of year. For a more substantial salad, toss in toasted nuts, cheeses, and even meats like bacon or salami.

To inspire you, we feature our favorite recipes that showcase winter produce at its flavorful best. Try our version of the classic French bistro salad: frisée and Belgian endive tossed with a warm vinaigrette and crowned with bits of crispy bacon. Our light and refreshing arugula salad includes fennel for crunch, plus orange slices for tangy sweetness. Or enjoy an Italian-style tricolore salad, which combines three winter greens (radicchio, endive and arugula) with thin shavings of Parmigiano-Reggiano cheese.
