After working at an enoteca in Florence while studying abroad, Alex Jump returned home to Tennessee and dove into bartending, soon racking up an impressive resume working at some of the country’s best restaurants and bars. Her cocktail La Strada Spritz, a delightful day-sipper based on an Italian aperitivo and liqueur and a dry Spanish sherry, is just the thing for enjoying while planning an Italian vacation.

Ingredients:

  • 3/4 oz. (20 ml) Luxardo Bitter Bianco
  • 3/4 oz. (20 ml) Lustau Manzanilla Sherry
  • 1/2 oz. (15 ml) Luxardo Apricot Liqueur
  • 2 oz. (60 ml) soda water
  • 3 oz. (90 ml) prosecco
  • Lemon slice or apricot wedge for garnish
  • Thyme sprig for garnish

Directions:

In a wine glass filled with ice, combine the Bitter Bianco, sherry and apricot liqueur. Stir briefly to combine. Pour the soda water and then the prosecco on top. Garnish with the lemon slice and thyme sprig and serve immediately. Makes 1 drink.
