Our Test Kitchen chefs rely on two simple aromatics to give green beans a big flavor boost. Fresh ginger brings spicy sweetness, while garlic adds mellow nutty notes. This makes a great side dish for our Asian-style miso salmon. To streamline dinner prep, you can cook the fish and beans in tandem using the Philips dual air fryer, which is designed to accommodate foods that cook at different temperatures and times.

Ingredients:

  • 2 Tbs. avocado oil or other neutral oil
  • 2 large garlic cloves, roughly chopped
  • 1 1/2-inch (4-cm) piece fresh ginger, peeled and grated
  • 8 oz. (250 g) French green beans
  • Kosher salt

Directions:

Line the fry basket of an air fryer with parchment paper or aluminum foil. Preheat the fryer to 400°F (200°C) according to the manufacturer’s instructions. In a small bowl, toss together the avocado oil, garlic and ginger. Place in the prepared fry basket and insert into the air fryer. Cook until the edges of the garlic begin to turn light golden brown, 3 to 5 minutes. Add the green beans and a pinch of salt to the fry basket and toss to coat, then add a splash of water. Reduce the temperature to 300°F (150°C) and cook until the beans are tender, about 5 minutes. Serve immediately. Serves 2.
