Rated 5 out of 5 by Texas_Ashleigh from I use this pan for everything. I try to use cast iron for most of my cooking and wanted to get rid of my old aluminum half sheets. Replaced them with this and I love it. I've cooked cookies on it, meat, veggies. I use it as a griddle on the stove and my husband uses it on the grill. It can do literally anything. 10/10Date published: 2019-12-19Rated 2 out of 5 by Joan31 from Limited uses I bought this griddle to make pancakes on my new induction stove. It has two synced burners. However, the griddle area between the burners does not get to the same temp as the areas over the burners. Thus, my pancakes cooked unevenly. A mess! What should I do differently? Don’t tell me to just cook on the ends. I’ll buy a new stand alone griddle first and return the Staub double burner.Date published: 2019-10-17Rated 5 out of 5 by Gib S from Best griddle ever I really like the thickness. It holds heat very well. Pancake, meat, veggies and fish all come out great.Date published: 2019-09-23Rated 1 out of 5 by Iloo from Much smaller than stated dimensions The dimensions are much smaller than described. The depth was listed as 3” and it was 1 1/2” at the top of the handle. I ordered 1 griddle but received 2 though charged for 1. The handle was snapped off one of them which makes me question durability. I returned both.Date published: 2019-05-01Rated 5 out of 5 by Mira from Excellent stove to table Superior, best ever for grilling on gas stove in house,Date published: 2019-03-02Rated 5 out of 5 by SonVolt from Great for serving! Works great as a roasting pan and oven-safe serving platter. The dimensions are a little smaller than what's listed. The width is more like 10", not 12". It's also not "20" long with handles" as stated in the description; it's more like 15-16". Still a beautiful product. One note, the bottom is shiny black and not teal like most of their matt black items.Date published: 2019-01-18
Sorry if redundant but another 'induction' question - you mentioned a problem with older GE Induction, any experience or feedback from the current generation of Induction cooktops? I just bought a Wolf Induction cook top and thought this would be good.We have a Frigidaire induction range and are still getting used to it (formerly had electric cooktop). Our first use of the Staub double burner griddle this morning didnt go well — because of human error! It spans our two burners almost perfectly lengthwise; but I think we failed to preheat it well. My husband used Pam, which I’m sure is a no-no. Everything stuck. I think it needs seasoning despite what Staub says, and I will help my husband next time he tries this — since I’m the one who reads all the instruction manuals lol! We switched to a stainless steel pan and messed up the heat on that too — burned. Total breakfast fail. Bottom line: This new pan will work great once we figure out the heat level! It slips around a bit on the smooth induction stovetop, so we will need some better potholders. Date published: 2019-12-01
Is the bottom of the griddle a flat surface? This item does have a flat bottom, which is great for induction and other flat cook tops.Date published: 2019-11-26
Does this double burner griddle work on an induction stove top?Hi Sharmelle, Yes, this cast-iron griddle will work on an induction stovetop. However, we don't recommend using on a glass stovetop as dropping the pan on it would crack the stovetop or dragging the heavy pan across it would scratch the glass.Date published: 2019-04-28
Does this have a non-stick coating or more 'old school' cast iron that needs seasoning?Hi Steve, This griddle has an enamel finish so you don't need to season it like traditional cast iron. Care Instructions: Allow pan to cool before washing. Dishwasher safe. Stubborn stains can be removed by soaking pot for a few minutes in hot, soapy water. Completely dry pan before storing. Avoid using steel wool, steel scouring pads, harsh detergents, bleach or abrasive cleaners.Date published: 2019-01-23
"Ideal for use on any cooktop, including induction; not recommended for glass stove tops." I am interested in using this on an induction cooktop, but am perplexed about the warning not to use it on a glass stove top. Please clarify. Thank you.Hi kitchen girl - This warning really only applies to older GE glass cooktops. There have been some instances where Cast-Iron products have cracked them. We suggest that customers check warnings in their glass cooktop manuals for best performing cookware materials. Thanks!Date published: 2019-02-21
