Thanks to the availability of frozen berries, you can enjoy the fresh flavors of summer even in the midst of winter. If using frozen berries to make this refreshing smoothie, defrost them before juicing. You may not need to add the sugar if the fruit is sweet. If you like, reserve a few attractive berries and skewer them with a wooden skewer for garnish.

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup raspberries
  • 1/2 cup blueberries
  • 1/2 small apple, cored and cut into pieces
  • 1/2 cup Homemade Yogurt
  • 1 1/2 tsp. sugar, as needed

Directions:

In an extractor, juice the raspberries, blueberries and apple, in that order, according to the manufacturers instructions. It may be necessary to open the machine and push any remaining puree through the spout. Stir in the yogurt. Taste for sweetness, adding the sugar if needed. Stir again and serve.
