Thanks to our exclusive Japanese-inspired grilling sauce, this salmon couldn’t be easier to make. The umami-rich sauce hits all the high notes, combining savory soy and sesame with garlic, rice vinegar and honey, plus red chiles for a bit of heat. The dish is perfect for those busy weeknights since there’s no need to fire up an outdoor grill—just cook the fish on a stovetop grill pan. Add a side of steamed rice and your favorite vegetable, and dinner is served.

Ingredients:

  • Canola oil for brushing
  • 4 salmon fillets, each about 6 oz. (185 g) and 1 inch (2.5 cm) thick
  • Kosher salt and freshly ground pepper
  • 1/2 cup (4 fl. oz./125 ml) Sesame Soy Teriyaki Grilling Sauce
  • 2 green onions, white and light green portions, thinly sliced on the diagonal
  • 1 Tbs. toasted sesame seeds

Directions:

Brush a stovetop grill pan with canola oil. Place over medium-high heat until the oil is almost smoking.

Season the salmon with salt and pepper. Place the salmon, skin side down, on the grill pan and brush with about half of the grilling sauce. Cook until the salmon releases easily from the pan, 4 to 5 minutes. Flip the salmon and cook until the flesh is lightly charred, about 4 minutes. Flip the salmon so it is skin side down again, brush with the remaining sauce and cook until the salmon is almost opaque throughout and just begins to flake easily when pierced with a knife, 2 to 4 minutes more.

Transfer the salmon to a platter, sprinkle with the green onions and sesame seeds and serve immediately. Serves 4.
