Prep Time: 10 minutes
Cook Time: 300 minutes
Servings: 6

Our braising sauce made of pumpkin, classic fall spices and a splash of tangy apple cider is the perfect start to an easy autumnal meal. Serve this dish with some fettuccine, polenta or simply a good loaf of bread to sop up every last bit of the savory braising sauce. And using a KitchenAid multi-cooker to prepare the dish makes cleanup simple, since you can both sear the pork and braise it in the cooker’s insert.

Ingredients:

  • 3 to 3 1/2 lb. (1.5 to 1.75 kg) boneless pork shoulder, cut into
      2-inch (5-cm) cubes
  • Kosher salt and freshly ground pepper, to taste
  • 2 Tbs. olive oil
  • 1 jar Spiced Pumpkin Braising Sauce

Directions:

Season the pork generously with salt and pepper.

In a multi-cooker on the sear setting, warm the olive oil until just smoking. Working in batches to avoid crowding, brown the pork all over, about 10 minutes per batch.

Return all the pork pieces to the multi-cooker insert. Add the braising sauce and change the multi-cooker’s setting to slow cook, high. Cover and cook until the meat is fork-tender, 4 to 5 hours. Season to taste with salt and pepper and serve immediately. Serves 4 to 6.
