Rated 3 out of 5 by Ransom423 from Beautiful wood, but... Purchased this knife block in the Acacia wood. It's gorgeous in person. The only reason I am giving this a three-star review is because the wood within the slots are not sanded down. Therefore it leaves your pristine knives with hairline scratches all over the blade :(Date published: 2019-03-13Rated 3 out of 5 by MM97 from Could be a really nice block Finally bought the Wusthof carving knife set and this block appears to the smallest that will accommodate the straight carving fork. As other reviewers have noted, they seem to have a quality issue. The first one arrived with a large, noticeable blemish right in the front (like there was a wood knot or blemish that wouldn’t take the stain). I don’t know how you miss that before it leaves the shop unless Wusthof really doesn’t inspect them before shipping them out. Williams Sonoma customer service was great, though. Gladly accepted the return over the phone and shipped out a replacement. The replacement, however, now has a small seem where two pieces of wood are starting to separate. It’s much less noticeable so I guess we’ll keep it and hope it doesn’t get worse. Bottom line: could be a great block. If yours isn’t, perhaps Williams Sonoma’s customer service would help you out too.Date published: 2019-01-26Rated 1 out of 5 by Naeces from Poor quality The item either wasn't sanded properly before assembly or not clamped properly or likely both so there are huge lines of glue throughout the item with about a 3 inch one at the top and they appear to have glued back together parts they broke of in milling half hazardly. The rows are made up of cheaper multiple smaller blocks instead of one solid one which means these glue lines are everywhere. The block is also a completely different stain color than the one I am replacing its darker than wat I ordered. I am very unhappy.Date published: 2017-10-21Rated 3 out of 5 by Sharon from Love the block.... Love the acacia wood, hate the cheap nameplate...what happened to the Lazer Print?.?Date published: 2017-08-21Rated 5 out of 5 by idleman89 from Gorgeous wood I ordered the 25 slot Wusthof knife block with the great assistance from WIlliams- Sonoma customer service, who although they didn't have a sample, called around until they found a store with the block and asked them to measure each slot. O bought to others that I had to return because my wide knives would not fit. So sorry I didn't find Williams-Sonoma until I was 68 :-)Date published: 2017-03-09Rated 5 out of 5 by BoosterMom1 from Excellent for additional knives I was in search of a quality product to store all my additional specialty knives that had accumulated over the years. This was the perfect choice!Date published: 2015-07-04Rated 1 out of 5 by VIKINGREF from too wide too many narrow slots If you own a lot few small prep knives, this is great. This did not work for me because I got rid of my Ikon steak knives that scratched and damaged my plates. I am the big prep knife collector: Chef knives 8" & 6" and Santokus 7" & 5" ... each in the Ikon and Kaji. I own a Kaji Nakiri, Kaji Ultimate and Kaji Dual Density too. My recommendation for a big knife collection is the 22 Slot Shun Knife block, the oval upright one. It is not massive horizontally but wisely makes use of upright space, the honing steel is separate, the scissors slot is wonderfully way below so it is not obstructed by any knife handle, it holds a cleaver!! Very nice, well thought product-I just wish WS would sell it.Date published: 2015-05-24Rated 5 out of 5 by Mozart09 from Kitchen Cook Knife Storage The cooking knives are now properly stored and are within easy reach in the kitchen. A wonderful addition to all kitches.Date published: 2015-01-17
