Rated 5 out of 5 by BradInBoulder from Excellent machine; just a couple annoying flaws We've had this coffee maker for a few months now, and I wanted to share my feedback in case it'll be helpful. Like many others, I struggled to justify paying at least 2x what most coffee makers cost, but I've been surprisingly impressed! One of the main reasons we chose this coffee maker was that we wanted a 10-cup capacity model and we wanted it to fit under our cabinets, but we only have 16 inches of clearance from the countertop -- the Wolf Gourmet is PERFECT in terms of size, and doesn't require pulling it out each time to make coffee like most others would (since the water reservoir can be removed, and the coffee filter fits into a horizontal "drawer"). Other pros: - I thought the ability to measure coffee by weight (for a specific number of cups and a chosen strength) would be a gimmick that we wouldn't use, but it's a GREAT feature, and this is the only unit I've seen that has it. Really nice not to have to measure with a spoon any more -- just pour straight from the grinder container. - Controls are super-intuitive and simple -- it's easy to change the program or the number of cups with minimal effort. - Very nice to be able to turn the "clock" display off, and a surprising feature was that it seems to remember the time if the power goes off temporarily (so no need to do complicated re-programming!) - In terms of taste and temperature, it's superior to any coffee maker we've had before (mostly Cuisinart) Just a couple of complaints: - I'm sure many people get this machine (at least partially) to match the knobs of their Wolf cooktop, range, etc. -- unfortunately, the red color is QUITE different from the cooktop, which seems like it could be fixed (see photo). - The unit uses charcoal-based water filters like many machines, but unless I'm missing something, the design of the water reservoir doesn't "force" the water to pass through the filter (at all), so it seems that they're absolutely useless (unless they filter just by absorbing stuff during the very short time the water's in the tank, which seems unlikely). This feels like a major design flaw in what is otherwise an exceptionally designed machine.Date published: 2020-01-02Rated 5 out of 5 by EnjoyLife from Love it! Everything about this machine reflects a quality build. It’s better than what I imagined, fitting perfectly to allow for easy water reservoir access; fast, quiet, steam-less operation; and producing a perfect pot of coffee that is still hot two hours after brewing. Having recently overplayed my hand justifying the purchase of a 4K bicycle with how I don’t go to the movies, out to eat or have a gym membership as well as cutting the cable cord, I knew I would need a new strategy to justify this coffee pot. I found it! The money I spend on lesser quality pots during the same time period as the Wolf warranty (5 years) certainly covers its higher asking price.Date published: 2019-09-05Rated 5 out of 5 by TVCG from Something to appreciate We received this as a gift (after hinting seriously). Going in, we simply wanted it match our new Wolf range, like kitchen jewelry. After a few weeks we realize it's much more than that. It's easy to use all of the features, Accubrew means I don't have to count (and lose track of) the number of scoops I put in, and the coffee is nearly McDonalds hot (pre-warm the carafe for best results). It's also very quiet. Expensive? Sure is. It's built like a Mercedes though, must weigh ten pounds. Seems like it will last 20 years. A very nice splurge!Date published: 2019-01-06Rated 5 out of 5 by Jimmy from Best coffee maker ever I had a hard time justifying the cost of this coffee maker until I got it home, what a fantastic machine. From the accubrew feature that weighs the coffee for a perfect brew to the thermal carafe that keeps your coffee warm for two hours, this I s a great coffee maker. The only flaw I see is the accubrew system does not measure water from the tank, you have to put in the exact amount of water because it will brew all the water in the tank no matter what cup setting you have, this seems odd, otherwise perfection.Date published: 2018-12-27Rated 5 out of 5 by OHH WOW from Very Nice !!! I have had my Wolf coffee maker for a few months now. It makes a great pot of coffee and I couldn't be happier. It is simple to use and the coffee will stay hot way longer than i expected it to. It is fast and very easy to clean. I can not think of any changes I would prefer in its design. It matches all the other Wolf appliances that I have and looks great at the coffee bar. It is a little expensive but it comes with a 5 year warranty and it is a Wolf. I am very happy that I purchased it.Date published: 2018-11-14Rated 5 out of 5 by toddboat from Makes great tasting coffee I have a Technivorm and an automatic pour-over and this Wolf coffee system matches both in cup Quality! Very quiet system. Looks great on countertopDate published: 2018-11-06Rated 4 out of 5 by iflymaui from PRICEY BUT EXCELLENT WITH A FEW ISSUES I've had the Wolf Gourmet Coffee Maker now for several days and have used it many times. I'm impressed. It's design in appearance is stunning if not perfection. Controls and knobs are well thought out and what I admire about it is that it is more analog in function and less digital. Keeping it simple is paramount and Wolf has accomplished that. Also worthy is the fact that this unit comes with a 5 year warranty. Many Wolf Gourmet products are actually built by Hamilton-Beach but despite the builder, the Wolf products are well covered (we have the toaster and the oven as well) via the offered warranty. The most important compliment is that the coffee pours HOT (much hotter than say a Capresso or typical Mr. Coffee). The carafe also manages to excel on its thermal design in maintaining the temperature of the coffee after brewing. It's pricey for a simple coffee maker. In fact, I know of nothing more costly for the brewing of basic coffee. There is no built-in grinder so consider that as well as so many prefer that option (I do not). There are a few design flaws but nothing too major. My real complaint is that a very faint signal is omitted from the unit when the brew cycle has completed. You'll never hear it unless you are standing in front of the unit itself. It is so faint and therefore not effective at all. The other issue is that the carafe top pours poorly. There is no dispensing button or handle to control the flow of the coffee or the release of the coffee into your cup. I've found that the pour almost always leaks somewhat as the directional flow is too wide. Finally, the unit looks wonderful on your counter even if you don't have other Wolf appliances. There is just something about those red knobs that are a Wolf trademark! Would I be crazy enough to buy it again if I was provided the choice despite it's ultra high price tag? I would...Date published: 2018-11-06
I’m interested in buying your coffee machine but the reviews talks about lines that are placed inside instead of outside. Pour spout is wide thus causing coffee to spill. Faint signal. Do you plan on making these changes and when?Hi Trinipeggy, Thank you for your interest in the Wolf Gourmet Coffee System. The water reservoir is able to be removed and brought to the sink for filling. That is why the fill lines are on the sides rather than the exterior facing surface. The pour spout issue could occur if the carafe lid is not seated properly or depending on how fast the coffee is poured. We suggest making sure the lid is evenly seated on the carafe prior to closing. The end of cycle signal is set at a level comparable to other Wolf Gourmet products. It is set at a comfortable sound level for early morning brewing.Date published: 2019-11-08
Is the plastic free of BPA and BPE?Hi Dee808, This coffee maker is BPA, PFOA and PTFE-free.Date published: 2019-10-14
How can I see that the pre set timer is actually set and ready for tomorrow morning ? I’ve done the time, then the desired timer time but it didn’t come on this morning. Hi Susan, To set the start time for when to brew coffee, press PROG for more than 1/2 second to set the time of day when the Coffee System should start automatically brewing. Please try this again and let us know if this doesn't work and we'll inquire with the vendor as to how to troubleshoot.Date published: 2019-12-01
How is the “Water Filter” indicator reset after replacing with a new filter?Hi Jjking, To reset the WATER FILTER reminder, turn the Mode Selector bezel to CLEAN mode. Then, press and hold the ZERO button for 5 seconds.Date published: 2019-04-23
I need to store my coffeemaker on my counter under my cabinets. When I prepare the coffee the coffeemaker needs to slid forward to pour the water into the reservoir. Does this maker move easily on a quartz countertop? Thank you in advance.Hi! I would like to recommend placing the coffee maker on a placemat. There are so many, from very inexpensive to very expensive, plain to elegant, etc. This would guarantee that your coffee maker would slide easily.Date published: 2019-03-30
The water filter holder on my machine doesn't appear to provide a "seal" with the outlet from the reservoir, so the water can bypass the filter altogether when brewing. Is this the way it was designed?
