Rated 1 out of 5 by Peaches from Disappointed I purchased this food mill as a replacement and I am very disappointed in the quality. I use a food mill for canning. Tried making jelled cranberry sauce and the small seeds go through the finest disk. Have purchase another food mill which does catch the seeds and skins. Complete waste of money.Date published: 2019-10-27Rated 1 out of 5 by MMarie from Poor Quality- DO NOT BUY It is falling apart in only 3 months. I purchased the food mill 3 months ago to make tomato sauce. Within the first month the silver part at the end of the handle fell off, since it was just cosmetic so I kept it. Now 2 months later the rubber knob at the top (in the picture) broke off and cannot be used. Since it is over 30 days, I cannot return.Date published: 2018-10-12Rated 3 out of 5 by gadgetcollector from Good and bad I bought this to make mashed potatoes and apple sauce. It does that wonderfully--as long as the quantities are small. The supports that hold the food mill are too high up on its bowl so there's not much room for the puréed food in the container below. This is even evident if you in the video on the WS website. I end up trying to hold it with one hand while I turn the the crank with the other. Not comfortable or convenient to use for any length of time. I'm surprised that in the 18 months the designers worked on this, they didn't figure this out.Date published: 2018-08-14Rated 5 out of 5 by MikeMpls from Great for smooth potatoes Bought this to use for mashed potatoes and glad I did - it worked really nice to have smooth mash pototatoes and made it much easier than mashing. Intend to have potatoes more often given how easy it is to turn out some wonderful potatoes. I hope to use this for other food prep down they road too. Easy to clean-just toss in the dishwasher. I will say that there are no instructions in the box - being unfamiliar with this product I didn’t know you needed to remove the small metal clip from bottom of the stem and then re-attach it on bottom of mill after installing the insert. Only after reviewing product photos online did I figure this out - not sure why they don’t include some basic info on this with product - I thought it was defective and almost returned it to store (even the one in the store was set up wrong!)Date published: 2017-12-26Rated 5 out of 5 by PeatMoss from Perfect Potatoes! The WS food mill is a wonderful addition to my aresenal of cook's tools. What I love about it is that it's so well constructed! The handle is ergonomically constructed so it feels great in your hand. The mill also comes with three different blades to give you versatility when cooking. I've made perfect garlic mashed potatoes (the WS online recipe is fantastic), sweet potatoes, a gorgeous gravy from veal stock after passing the vegetables through the mill and of course pasta sauce. Clean up is a breeze. Pop out the blade and wash. Pay a attention to how you put the blades in; it can be a little tricky the first time. Highly recommend.Date published: 2017-10-12
