Rated 1 out of 5 by NSquared from Beautiful but broke before it even got put to use I loved the design and was so excited. It must have slid and bumped into something in the car — I guess — because it was broken when I pulled it from the bag. I was going to exchange but when I read the other reviews, I realized that it was to fragile a product. I hope the find another manufacturer to make it because it’s so good looking. Thankfully, Willams Sonoma took it back, I traded it in for the marble one.Date published: 2019-04-22Rated 1 out of 5 by kate from Broke within ONE WEEK! This bread box looks very nice, but it broke within a week! The board fell and chipped the corner off the ceramic part. I am so disappointed!Date published: 2019-03-22Rated 3 out of 5 by WaterGraff from Was perfect - but broke within the year Beautiful and worked well in our space. Easy to use. But it broke just as the other reviewers when my husband put the top in place one day. For over 100$ we were upset! I would have thought it was our fault and bought a second if not for the other reviews. Clearly not worth it - do not buy.Date published: 2019-02-19Rated 4 out of 5 by Alohadude from Works well, but is heavy and cumbersome I bought this bread box about five years ago. It looks great and sat on my counter for five years, doing its job. Just this week I broke the corner of the lip trying to wash it in my sink. It was my inability to hold it steady with one hand while I rinsed it with the other, not any flaw in the product. It is simply too heavy and cumbersome for something as delicate as ceramic. Other reviewers have said "it broke," or the cutting board lid "fell over and broke the lip." These things don't just break by themselves or fall over by themselves. I wouldn't think of trying to blame Williams-Sonoma when I'm the one who bumped it against the side of my sink. The box's problem isn't a flaw; it is just too heavy to maneuver. I glued the broken part with epoxy, but will probably replace the box with something different. My mother had a cheap metal bread box when I was a child; I'll buy something like that if I can find it, perhaps smaller. I rated it 4 stars because it's nice and does what it says it does; I do not recommend it because it's too bulky, heavy and fragile to clean.Date published: 2019-02-13Rated 5 out of 5 by TimM from Excellent Bread Box Looks great on our countertops and can hold a good amount of bread. The cutting-board door is very convenient. Also, the ceramic cracked after only a few months of use and Williams Sonoma replaced it!Date published: 2018-12-20Rated 2 out of 5 by KLit from Loved it until.... Love the look of this box, but the same thing happed as the other reviewers. It cracked and I’ve had to super glue it twice!Date published: 2018-07-14Rated 1 out of 5 by Christiane from Design or manufacturing flaw I bought one after a lot of research and LOVED it! It was beautiful and kept the bread fresh for a long time. HOWEVER, within a few months, it cracked at the lip and sent a running crack all the way across the bottom. We continued to use it until the crack finally went through. I liked the design so much, that I bit the bullet and bit another one (ugh). Within a week, the lip broke off at the corner -- the next day, the lip on the other corner broke! Obviously, this was not from use (as we thought with our first box) but indicates a design/manufacturing flaw. WS returned it with a $20.00 gift card without a problem. I'm now going to try their marble bread box with a wood lid on top. Fingers crossed!Date published: 2018-07-09Rated 1 out of 5 by Incredibly disappointed from Wood cutting board fell and broke the box I bought this bread box in July. A week ago the wooden cutting board tipped over and fell, breaking the ceramic lip. Customer service refused to stand by the product saying that while that should not have happened, the purchase had been made too long ago for them to replace or credit. They will only replace or credit if it breaks within 30 days. The whole thing is very disappointing. I thought about the purchase for several months and researched other options before deciding on this one from Williams Sonoma. I was torn between this bread box and the marble one. But now I will never buy a bread box or anything else from Williams Sonoma again and I am canceling my Williams Sonoma credit card as well. I don't expect a lifetime warranty, but when your product is defective, a reputable company stands by it.Date published: 2018-03-21
Is the Williams and Sonoma logo on both sides of the cutting board? Would it be possible to turn the board around when it is on the box so the logo isn't visible?Hi sues, The logo is only on one side. The board just slides in the front so either side can face out.Date published: 2019-01-30
