Rated 5 out of 5 by bfac from Staub Tea Kettle I have now three of these, I use it every single day. I bought them for three other family gifts, and Now will be sending more as gifts to Friends and their Children. This is by far the BEST cast iron brand and this tea kettle is the best kitch tool. Get it and use it for every day, water or milk. I burn MILK in it weekly, and it always cleans up. I have many other of the STUAB pots, burn in them too sometimes, ha, I so love them. The BLACK Glaze is rock hard, so easy to use.Date published: 2018-12-10Rated 5 out of 5 by Gayle from Beautiful and functional I bought this kettle over a year ago in matt black and am so happy I did. It boils water quickly and is striking in appearance. A surprising number of visitors - both men and women - have commened on how unusual and attractive it is. As the descrition states, it is not large - it holds about a quart of water - but it suits my needs perfectly. I’m very happy with this purchase.Date published: 2018-09-02Rated 1 out of 5 by Sasha from Rusted on the inside I bought this because of the appearance. I was disappointed when I used it, it doesn’t hold very much and is difficult to pour. And then I noticed rust on the inside of the pour spout and where the handles attach.Date published: 2017-12-02Rated 5 out of 5 by Patricia from Not just a teapot! I bought this because I love that it's made in France and it's beautiful to look at. I haven't tried this yet but if I wanted to, I could use it to heat up a portion of soup, or keep warm and serve gravy! It completely opens up and cleans super easily just like my other enamel cast iron pieces. I love it!Date published: 2017-11-06Rated 5 out of 5 by runningmama from Perfect Little Tea Pot! I have been using my Staub tea kettle for just about a month and I love it. It is such a pretty little kettle and is perfect for making just a cup or two of tea. The graphite color is lovely! It is easy to fill, boils quickly, and is very easy to clean. Be aware that you will need a potholder to remove it from the stove.Date published: 2017-07-23Rated 5 out of 5 by Kenric from QUALITY I Purchased the the Basil over a year ago ..and it still looks great .....i love having my green tea ....so it was the perfect gift to my self ..i need to find the mugs to matchDate published: 2017-06-18Rated 3 out of 5 by Fatima from Graphite color is GREY not white as in pictures Graphite color is very grey definitely nothing close to white as shown in pictures. Also, much smaller than expected. Enough capacity for maybe two cups otherwise due to its low flat beak would overflow when boiling. Takes about 8 minutes to boil on a gas range. Requires a glove or towel to touch. Otherwise it's a pretty tea kettle.Date published: 2017-05-16Rated 2 out of 5 by jgranite from Over-priced In my quest for a non-made-in-China tea kettle, I decided to try the Staub. Though, even with a discount and a gift card, it's still not cheap, and in the end, not worth it. The green shade is lovely, and it's a cute little pot, but it is quite small and heavy. The spout does not pour smoothly, and the handles are awkward and clank around a lot (you have to put them on yourself, so they are not tight fitting). The biggest issue, however, and definitely a deal-breaker, is the lack of a whistle. Within two weeks of purchase, I had forgotten to set a timer, and left it on the burner too long. The enamel melted off the bottom of the kettle and onto the burner (electric stove). Both are still usable, but the burner is now solely relegated to the tea kettle. Unfortunately, last week I did the same thing -- this time it was on the burner for so long that the bottom interior bubbled. Our house is not very big, and when I have a normal pot on the stove, I can hear when it's boiling. But this tea kettle is solid and not going anywhere, so it's very difficult to tell from the next room that it's boiling. Granted, it is user-error, and I take full responsibility for the silliness. But no tea kettle should be so high maintenance, esp. one as expensive as this. I will never again buy one without a whistle! I had no idea it would be such an issue. I don't look forward to more research on the next one to buy -- most tea kettles are cheaply made, and even my favorite US pot/pan manufacturer makes theirs in China. (BTW, those cute little Staub pot-top critters are made in China as well)Date published: 2017-05-13
