- More about Staub
Staub traces its origin to the Alsace region of France, where founder Francis Staub designed his first enameled pot while working in an old French artillery factory in 1974. With the goal of creating the perfect pot for cooking the region’s traditional hearty soups, stews and braises, he combined cast iron, the most popular material of the time, with the latest enameling technology available. Today, Staub still makes its cookware at a traditional atelier in France, casting each pot in an individual sand mold, which is heated to 800°F and destroyed after use. The exterior enamel coating is made with glass powder and mineral pigments, applied in two or three coats to generate brilliant glossy colors.

Staub Cast-Iron Pumpkin Cocotte
Rated 5 out of 5 by Pat H from Added to my collection I purchased this STAUB cast iron pumpkin to add to my collection. I would love to add the small 16 oz ceramic pumpkins but unfortunately they are not made in France like the cast iron pumpkins.Date published: 2018-12-08Rated 5 out of 5 by kauaibaker from Perfect for fall I own these pumpkins in the 5 qt orange and the 3.5 qt black. They are perfect for fall. Halloween witches stew. Thanksgiving sides. So many possibilities. While I prefer le creuset for every day cooking, (I like seeing the browning on the bottom), these are great for parties and special occaisions. The only downside with any shaped pan is they can be a little harder to cook in and clean up. Very happy with this purchase.Date published: 2018-12-08Rated 5 out of 5 by Baba52 from Amazing craftsmanship! I purchased the pumpkin and the tomato cast iron casseroles for my daughters as gifts. The price was spectacular and they were delivered in less than a week. They are beautiful works of art and well made. I know my daughter will never expect this gift as prices elsewhere were out of reach. These are actually for next Christmas, I found your site by accident after being disappointed by another seller on a similar item. I also realized that my children graced me with a set of knives from your company years ago.....I use them everyday, they are spectacular. As you can tell, we are a family that loves to cook.Date published: 2018-01-28Rated 5 out of 5 by Statsman from Excellent quality I bought this for my wife. She collects pumpkin decorations and was excited to get this beautiful, excellent quality Staub cocotte. I have bought other Staub products in the past, and will buy more in the future!Date published: 2017-11-06Rated 5 out of 5 by Lynne from Seriously Adorable! I pondered purchasing these cocottes for weeks. I finally decided to buy the 1/2 quart size. The 1/2 quart size is perfect for first course portions like soups, the 3/4 quart size is big enough for entree size portions. They are also perfect for dips or other snack items! The quality is outstanding, and expected from Staub. The color is pumpkin and not too bright orange and pairs well with a fall table. The lids fit perfectly, and as a bonus Staub put a stem on the top with a curve that makes lifting off the lid easy for guests. One point about the lid, when the lid is taken off it becomes a bowl with a wide opening for guests to easily eat out of. They are dishwasher/microwave and oven safe. Therefore you can use them for fall crisp desserts or even bread and serve from oven to table. And the clean up is a snap with the dishwasher safe. We use these weekly for fall soups and they have become a fall tradition our family looks forward to.Date published: 2017-10-13Rated 5 out of 5 by Kay K from Beautiful Pumpkin Cocotte Can't express how beautiful and useful this cocotte is. One of the best touch in my fall decorated kitchen.Date published: 2017-09-15Rated 5 out of 5 by Greta6652 from Staub 3/4 Qt. Pumpkin Cocotte Review Originally bought the new White Pumpkin. 3/4 qt. Cocotte. Got it home & it looks so "bland!" It's a "refrigerator" white. Exchanged it for the orange/rust & it's spectacular! Subtle shades of orange & rust...a real show piece!Date published: 2016-10-24Rated 5 out of 5 by DLLW from Adorable for fall decor and serving! I ordered two of these ceramic cocottes to use for serving (I can imagine serving soup in them, using them for something like cranberry sauce at Thanksgiving, etc.) and also as decor on my tabletop when not in use. I love them! I had been a little nervous to order them at first, after seeing the negative reviews from last year where people said the lids did not fit well. I don't know if Staub did something to improve the lids this year, but I did not have that problem. The lids fit very nicely. I'm very pleased with these. They look great with my cast iron pumpkin cocotte as well.Date published: 2016-09-12
