Enjoy some of the best artisanal loaves we’ve ever tasted, delivered right to your door. From New England’s legendary Nashoba bakery, this classic sourdough bread derives its complex character from local wild yeasts in the starter, made from wild concord grapes harvested from the banks of the Nashoba Brook. Artisan bakers leaven the bread using a slow-rise process that further enhances the flavor, giving the finished loaves a mild, tangy taste. Requiring 24 hours to prepare from start to finish, the hand-shaped loaves are baked in old-style hearth ovens for a crisp, golden crust that beautifully complements the moist, supple crumb.

- Use & Care
- This bread has been shipped at ambient temperature. The bread can be stored at room temperature for up to 2 days, or frozen up to 1 month.
- If frozen, thaw the bread at room temperature for approximately 3 hours. Preheat oven to 375˚F and bake for 10-13 minutes. To refresh room temperature bread, adjust cooking time by 5 minutes.
- Unbleached unbromated wheat flour ((wheat flour, niacin, reduced iron, thiamin mononitrate, riboflavin, folic acid) malted barley flour), filtered water, natural sourdough starter, organic whole wheat flour, sea salt.
Please allow 2-7 business days for processing and delivery. This gives our artisan partners time to prepare your order with exceptional care and attention to detail. A more accurate delivery date will be quoted on the payment page. Perishable food items are not eligible for rush shipping. Please not that we do not ship perishable food items outside the contiguous 48 states or to P.O. Boxes.

Next Day Delivery
For an additional charge of $26 per address, we can expedite delivery to most destinations. This service is not available for some oversize items, items shipped directly from the supplier (including perishable and custom-manufactured items), out-of-stock items and items to be shipped outside the contiguous 48 states.
Orders received by 9:00 p.m. ET Monday through Thursday will arrive the next business day; orders placed Friday through Sunday will arrive on the following Tuesday.
At Williams Sonoma, we take great pride in the quality and craftsmanship of our products. Attention to design, materials, safety and construction are our priority. Upon receipt, please inspect your purchase and notify us of any damage; we will arrange for a prompt replacement.
If within 30 days, you are dissatisfied for any reason, you may return your purchase for a refund of the merchandise value. An original receipt or gift receipt is required for all returns and exchanges. Returns with a gift receipt will be refunded in the form of a Merchandise Credit for the amount indicated on the gift receipt. Returns with original receipt will be refunded in the original form of payment, cash and check refunds over $100 will be issued as a company check (may take 14 business days from time of request).

We cannot accept returns on monogrammed, personalized, special-order items, custom upholstery, food, items shipped direct from the vendor or on items damaged through normal wear and tear. Final sale items ending in .97 or .99 cannot be returned.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Sparky from Great Tasting Sourdough! I have dysbiosis (yeast overgrowth causes an imbalance in good and bad bacteria in my abdomen), so sugar and yeast feed the yeast. My naturopath recommended a sourdough with a process of slow fermentation that allows the bacteria to break down the carbohydrates and gluten, making it easier for the body to digest. This worked great and it has a classic sourdough taste. I eat a slice daily after I toast it and use a little butter. Now that I have no time now to maintain the sourdough culture and to prepare the dough, I really miss the bread. Living in the middle of nowhere didn't help either. So I decided to try out these loaves. Though they're different from what I used to make, I have to say for an online ordered bread, they are better than expected. The tanginess is about right. The crust is thin and crunchy. The crumb is chewy and airy enough. I'm picky about sourdough - mostly because I'd been spoiled on the San Francisco kind. These were really good. Sliced, toasted with cultured butter spread over a slice, with a really good cup of coffee, make for some great mornings. These guys freeze well, and they're like a little black dress... it just goes with everything. Toast it! The crispy crust is sublime. Make sandwiches! If you have a small household, cut the loaves in half, wrap well, and freeze them--they do well. We watched Michael Pollan's documentary about how sourdough made the old world way, with hours of fermentation and naturally occurring yeast, allows bacteria to fully break down the carbohydrates and gluten in bread, making it easier to digest and releasing the nutrients within it. I'm gluten intolerant, and REALLY miss bread, so I thought I'd give this sourdough a try. I was shocked. I have no adverse reaction when I ate this bread. I felt fine! I think some angels may have even sung. I cant tell you how awesome it is to be able to eat bread... I know that not all sourdough is made the same way, but this is the real deal. I can't recommend it enough if you have a gluten sensitivity- give it a try. It's delicious and has been game changing for me. :) Thanks for making this bread accessible! Also, it arrives fresh and we put it right into the freezer. There are only two of us, so I sliced each loaf in half and froze the halves, and they didn't seem to lose anything in the freezing process. The bread is heavy, chewy and extremely flavorful.
