- More about Le Creuset
The first Le Creuset foundry opened in 1925 in Fresnoy-le-Grand, France, and specialized in cast-iron cookware. The cast-iron pieces are still made at the original factory, using the traditional techniques of hand forging and casting in individual sand molds. The brightly pigmented porcelain-enamel glaze that first set Le Creuset cookware apart from other cast-iron cookware now comes in a wide range of traditional and contemporary colors. In 2013, Le Creuset began producing innovative stainless-steel cookware in Portugal with lids that incorporate the same signature three-ring design as the company’s classic cast-iron pieces. This stainless-steel collection was awarded the prestigious 2014 Red Dot Award for product design.

Rated 4 out of 5 by EDM29910 from Panini Pan can not be used on Induction or Glass The item description on William-Sonoma web-site states that the Le Creuset Signature Cast-Iron Square Grill Pan & Press Set is ideal for use on any type of cooktop, including induction. That is not accurate. Per the LeCreuset Care and Use Instructions included with the Le Creuset Signature Cast-Iron Square Grill Pan & Press Set that the panini press can only be used successfully on gas or electric radiant stovetop. It also states DO NOT USE on any glass or solid electric cooktop, where the heat to the press will be insufficient. I contacted LeCreuset for clarification and they informed me that the grilling pan could be used on an induction surface, but the panini press will not work on any type of glass cooktop, including induction. Please be aware what surfaces the panani press will work on on what surfaces that it will not.Date published: 2017-05-28Rated 5 out of 5 by AnneAnne from Fabulous grill pan! Have had the grill pan for a couple of years and just bought the press. I can dispose of my electric panini press now. Nothing beats the smoky flavor this grill pan imparts. I don't use oil on the grill. Just heat it up and add my meats. It's incredible for crunchy grilled vegetables as well! For cleanup, just boil a little water. Sometimes I need nothing more than coarse salt and a paper towel. Easily cleans into the deep grooves. Rinse and dry. Very easy!Date published: 2017-05-20Rated 5 out of 5 by ItsMaxxNYC from Dont' be afraid this pan ROCKS! Ok, so I was all set to buy a Staub but was freaked out over the weight, The sales lady suggested the le creuset grill pan and press, it's somewhat lighter weight. After reading numerous reviews about how difficult it was to wash, I pondered, is chicken not a good first choice due to sticking, or should I start with a fattier meat. i jumped right in, sprayed pan with cooking spray, then put about a tablespoon of oil in pan pre-heated on medium for 20 minutes, did the water droplet test, and dropped my chicken tandori meat on the grill. LISTEN to everything you have heard and read, make sure pan is very hot, make sure the meat is pat dry, make sure the meat is room temp and you will be THRILLED with the results. As for cleaning...added 3/4 cup boiling water to pan let it heat on low while we were eating, the food just slid off the pan and it was a breeze. It's a great pan. My hubby loved to be able to grill in our NYC condoDate published: 2013-08-15Rated 5 out of 5 by Alohadude from Perfect for stovetop grilling I've used for stovetop grilling steaks several times. Follow the directions and get perfection. I live in a 9th floor condo and can't grill outdoors. But with this grill pan and press, I wouldn't even want to bother with outdoor grilling anyway. I listed weight as a postive and negative, because it is hard to handle when cleaning in my small sink, but it needs the weight to cook so well.Date published: 2013-03-04
