Rated 5 out of 5 by Pipoca from Heavy duty, bright popping color We've had this a few years now, and it is still in constant use. It cooks evenly and is great for serving in. Nice medium size to do daily dishes, more for 2 people or sides.Date published: 2019-12-07Rated 5 out of 5 by AmyG from Love this size This size is the one we use most often. I love how my Le Creuset cooks on our induction cooktop.Date published: 2019-11-11Rated 5 out of 5 by Ransom423 from Fantastic, perfect size oven! I bought this essential oven last year. It's a perfect size and completely versatile. It's great for curries, pasta sauces and soups. Great for desert and fruit crisps. I've even used it a few times to deep fry meat pieces for Asian style cuisine. I definitely recommend this for anyone.Date published: 2019-08-28Rated 5 out of 5 by Andrew from Great all around pot Bought this one in teal, on sale for around $125 and it’s one of my favorite pieces now. Perfect size for smaller meals, or for cooking rice while I’m making gumbo or beans in my larger Dutch oven.Date published: 2019-04-30Rated 5 out of 5 by Gene S from Great for all-around use This is quickly becoming my go-to pot. I love the size; it's not too big and not too small. Perfect size to handle on a daily basis. Whether it be searing pork chops or chicken, or making a quick soup, this pot does the job. I really like the more rounded edges around the bottom edges of the pot. And you just can't beat Le Creuset!!Date published: 2019-01-27Rated 5 out of 5 by kauaibaker from Love the lighter weight! I own many of the dutch ovens from Le Creuset and this one has become one of my favorites since it is lighter to carry. I thought it would be too small but it turns out to be perfect for most cuts of meat, vegetables, stews, soups, chili, pastas, and breads. If you are debating about trying Le Creuset for the first time, this is a great pan to start with.Date published: 2018-12-08Rated 5 out of 5 by cmcinc from This is one of my favorites! This 3 1/2 QT Sauteuse is a great pot. It's the perfect size for up to four. The bottom has slightly curved sides so it reduces sauces and makes whisking a breeze. The size is perfect for soups, stews, braising, frying and even baking. And even though the edges are rounded there is adequate floor space in the pan. This pot is lighter than other Le Creuset but works the same and cleans up beautifully. Don't cook on too high a flame and you will just rinse the pot each time you use it.Date published: 2018-03-04Rated 5 out of 5 by Beautiful Mint from The MINT is gorgeous!!! I have many Le Creuset pieces, my latest being this one in the new and exclusive MINT. All I can say is that its too beautiful for words....Date published: 2018-02-04
Is this first quality Le Creuset or “seconds”? The essential oven I received has a noticeable chip in the enamel and the raised letters on the lid are not fully covered. Hi cassa47, We are very sorry to hear that the Essential Oven did not arrive in excellent condition. We assure you that these products are first quality and not "seconds". We see that a replacement unit is already on its way to you. Although we do not anticipate any issues with this oven, please do contact us again if it does not meet your expectations.Date published: 2020-01-13
Is this good for oven use? What degree can the lid be in up to?Hi GenG, This is oven and broiler safe; stainless-steel knob is oven safe to 500°F; black phenolic-resin knob is oven safe to 375°F.Date published: 2019-12-23
Is this the risotto pot? I purchased a risotto pot size 3-1/2 Qt a few years ago and would like to buy a second one.I have the risotto pot ( which I believe was marketed by s l t ), and just recently purchased this one here. The main difference is the “risotto” has vertical sides vs the ever-so-slightly rounded bottom on this one that may be better for stirring, but it’s a very subtle distinction. It’s not as round as the soup pot but it does taper in a bit. The knobs are similar on both models. There may be a slight (1/4 inch) difference in height — or that may simply be due to variations in individual casts. They are —for the most part— quite similar. If you like the “risotto”, you’ll like this one as well. Date published: 2019-12-19
Hi, I just want to know if I can put this pot on top of the stove for it to boil my soup ? THANKS!Hi Coco729729, This oven is ideal for use on any cooktop, including induction.Date published: 2019-11-09
What’s the difference between an essential oven and a Dutch oven ? Hi Izzy, An essential oven has sloped sides to facilitate easy stirring and its wide cooking surface is ideal for browning and searing. A Dutch oven typically has straighter sides and a less wide cooking surface, unless you go up in size.Date published: 2019-12-18
What’s the dimension of the knob? I just bought one from your online shop and I want to buy the gold knob. Trying to decide whether i should get the medium or large gold knob? I read a somewhere that the medium gold knob still seem small for the 3.4 qt Hi Veronica, The black resin knob on this Essential Oven is 1.5” diam. X 1” high. We only offer the Le Creuset Signature Stainless-Steel Medium Knob, which is 1” diam. X 1” high. We do not offer the knob in gold.Date published: 2019-11-29
How is this different from the 3.5 quart braiser? They look pretty similar and seem to do similar things.Hi constern, The essential oven is wider and deeper and weighs less than the braiser. The braiser has more sloped sides, like a dish/wide bowl. Essential oven dimensions and weight are: 10" diam., 5" high; 8 lb. 13 oz. with lid. Braiser dimensions and weight are: 3 1/2-Qt.: 11 1/2" diam., 2 1/2" high; 11 lb. 14 oz.Date published: 2019-10-20
Your ad shows the 3.5 qt Essential Oven in the newer Midnight Blue color, yet when I try to order it, that color option is not available....why not? I've started a collection preferring this Midnight Blue color.Hi WScooking, The Midnight Blue option is no longer available online as we're sold out.Date published: 2020-01-15
