- Panfried Falafel with Cumin and Garlic
Bring a large pot of lightly salted water to a boil over high heat. Add the chickpeas and cook until slightly softened but still very firm in the center, about 10 minutes. Drain the chickpeas and let cool slightly.
In a food processor, combine the chickpeas, onion, garlic and parsley and process until coarsely pureed. Transfer the mixture to a bowl and stir in the baking powder, cumin, the 3/4 tsp. salt and the red pepper flakes. Refrigerate the mixture until cold, about 1 hour.
In a large nonstick fry pan over medium-high heat, warm about 1 Tbs. of the olive oil. With wet hands, shape 1/4-cup portions of the chickpea mixture into patties about 3 inches wide. Place 3 or 4 patties at a time in the pan and cook, turning once, until browned on both sides, 4 to 6 minutes total. Repeat to shape and cook the remaining falafel, adding more olive oil to the pan as needed. Serve immediately. Makes 12 to 14 patties; serves 4.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Midtownpuplyfe from Great gift! Great little chopper, I received it as a gift and I am very pleased with it. I used it to mince meat for a recipe, make hummus and chop nuts so far and it did all of those things perfectly. I used it to rice cauliflower flowers well and it wasn't what I would cal perfect but definitely good. There were a few bigger pieces left and I felt as though if I would have kept mincing it might have over minced it. Easy to clean and seems durable, the metal base seems like it makes it feel sturdier and vibrate less while using it.Date published: 2020-01-23Rated 5 out of 5 by Baker John from Great Chopper It gets the job done. I don’t have any complaints about the chopper.Date published: 2019-12-27Rated 2 out of 5 by Money Waster from 4 cup chopper grinder It is an “okay” kitchen appliance. I admit I don’t use it much as it is a bit lightweight and just a stupid purchase on my part. I thought it would be a great chopper for onions, carrots, celery for food prep. Not so much. Wasted money and valuable storage space.Date published: 2019-12-22Rated 4 out of 5 by LizzieJ from Great for beginners and pros alike. Chops evenly, and quickly. Really easy to use, and clean up after. One small difficulty is how hard the lid is to get off after it has been used. Took three of us to get it off after the last batch of chopped pistachios.Date published: 2019-12-20Rated 5 out of 5 by Handy Appliance from New Chopper I absolutely love my new chopper! It is handy and convenient for storing, plus does a wonderful job!!Date published: 2019-12-20Rated 4 out of 5 by Chef in exil from Almost perfect Perfect size it would be even better if there would be optional shredder and slicing discs availableDate published: 2019-12-20Rated 4 out of 5 by Sony Bony from None The cover requires two hands to remove, one to hold the bottom to keep it from turning and one to twist the top. Difficult to clean the inside of the blade. The handle gets moisture inside, when washed, that takes a while to dry out. Otherwise, very happy with the performance.Date published: 2019-12-20Rated 5 out of 5 by Beebe from No more challenge cutting. Chop instead. Made applesauce, and everyone loved the texture. Takes up very little space inside a cabinet. Easy to use and easy to clean. I love it. A friend ordered one. She has a problem with her hand and cutting fruits and vegetables into small pieces is something she cannot do. As do I. But now we have no problem.Date published: 2019-10-22
Does this have holes in the lid for adding oil or other liquids while running/processing?Hi Lulu, Yes, you can pour liquid through one of the two openings in the cover. IMPORTANT: Add liquid through only one opening at a time. The other opening must be left free to allow air to escape. If both openings are blocked, liquid cannot flow smoothly into the bowl.Date published: 2019-12-23
What's the difference between this food processor and the Elemental? Both the Cuisinart Elite Die-Cast Mini Prep and the Elemental chopper grinder have the same functions with the 4 cup bowl, the reversible motor and blade lock. However, the Elite has a heavier die cast metal housing, where the elemental is silver colored plastic.Date published: 2019-08-22
Can I make peanut butter with this mini processor?Making peanut butter is quick and easy, you’ll never buy it from the store again. For a change, substitute walnuts or pecans for the peanuts. You can make ¾ cup with 1½ cups toasted peanuts.Date published: 2019-04-22
Does this food processor have other disks (e.g., for shredding)?Hi Elaine, The Mini Prep does not include any discs. It only comes with the SmartPower® Blade with BladeLock System.Date published: 2019-05-21
