Pour off the excess oil from the pan. Return the chicken to the pan and add the Chicken Cacciatore Braising Sauce. Cover and cook over medium heat for 20 minutes. Uncover the pan and continue cooking until the chicken is cooked through, 15 to 20 minutes more.

Rated 5 out of 5 by MsBalloon from Perfect for Instant Pot Dinner First thing I tried in my new Instant Pot - browned bone-in chicken pieces and covered them with the sauce--cooked it on low for 7 hours and it was was fall-off-the-bone superb with buttered egg noodles. Used the leftover chicken to make a wonderful Pasta Fagioli soup (also wonderful)Date published: 2018-12-10Rated 4 out of 5 by stache from good starter A few suggestions to make this sauce even better. 1. Do not season chicken with pepper (salt only) 2. Add strips of 1 green pepper to sauce 3. Add 1/2 cup of ketchup to sauce 4. Add cup of sliced mushroom to sauce 5 Add 12 ounces of chicken stock to sauceDate published: 2018-11-13Rated 5 out of 5 by Abby from Just as good as mine! I was a bit skeptical trying this because I rate myself asa gourmet. Also quite picky. Well, boy was I take aback with this sauce. Super tasty and just as good as homemade. You can really tase all the flavors, and even the wine. I will be buying more of this!Date published: 2018-04-06Rated 4 out of 5 by Homeuser from Great taste and time saver It is really great tasting. If you don't have the time to make your own, this is a great alternative. I reordered it. I will say it is a bit spicy for me so I added a little chicken stock to make it a little milder.Date published: 2017-01-19Rated 5 out of 5 by KaraL from Delicious! I put this and the chicken in the crockpot and shredded the chicken at the end. Great over pasta!Date published: 2016-12-22Rated 5 out of 5 by LucieD from This is awesome This sauce is deeply tasty. I like the idea of a little sour cream at the end; the perfect touch. If you like Italian food, this is the bomb!Date published: 2016-12-12Rated 5 out of 5 by SurprisedatPoorQuality from Excellent time-saver! After my husband and I tried this sauce (following instructions to a tee) and served it with a bow tie pasta, we raved. I looked up online recipes for cacciatore, and one had a cooking time of over five hours. Ain't nobody got time for that! So glad we picked this up and easily divided it to freeze for a second meal. Thank you, Williams-Sonoma, for this entire product line. There is a need for those of us who like convenience cooking with quality. Well done!Date published: 2016-11-08Rated 5 out of 5 by sue1955 from Excellent Sauce We enjoyed this sauce and it's something a little different to have since we get into a rut with what to fix for dinner. My daughter salted the chicken breasts before sauteing and she added some crushed garlic to the pot. Upon eating, the dish needed just a little sprinkling of salt (and I'm not one to add salt at the table). My daughter thought that it would benefit from some sliced green pepper, but I think that it's fine on its own. I will purchase again.Date published: 2015-01-21
My husband purchased the cacciatore sauce but the one he received was red in color...tomato based. However the picture and comments indicate that it is not tomato based. Did the recipe change or did we receive one that is incorrectly labeled? Hi Chef Mom, The Cacciatore Braising Base does have tomatoes in it - as listed in the descriptor (jar label) and ingredients on the page. We will be updating our image on the product page shortly.Date published: 2019-07-15
