Rated 1 out of 5 by YoKoolScreenName from Bad Carafe I bought the coffee machine because it contained several features that I liked/needed. Unfortunately, the carafe design is poor. I could not get all of the coffee out of the carafe! I had to tilt my wrist consistently beyond what was normal for pouring out coffee if that makes any sense. I returned it and went with another model by Breville. No issue with the other model. I also concur with the leaking and bulky ness of the item. Stay away from this item!Date published: 2020-01-23Rated 2 out of 5 by LovePizza from Wish I didn’t buy I read the reviews (everywhere) and I just choose not believe the negative reviews. 1) the water does not heat up to a hot cup of coffee 2) it often seems like the coffee is greasy. I have used the same bean for a long time, and this is not typical. 3) machine is bulky-but I’m ok with that. I really wanted to live this.Date published: 2020-01-17Rated 1 out of 5 by cat2 from piece of junk I hate it=I tried it again and still hate it even more. My mistakeDate published: 2020-01-09Rated 2 out of 5 by Nana from Problem I have had several Breville coffee makers. Eventually they had same problem after two years or less. The coffee maker leak. I will not buy another one.Date published: 2020-01-05Rated 2 out of 5 by DCaz from Expensive mistake We debated over buying this pot. Reviews were mixed. We decided to give it a try because of the single cup brewing option. We’ve had all the problems folks complain about. The grinder must be cleaned after almost reach use and it’s complicated to clean. Additionally, even if the grinder is clean, the beans can get caught in the hopper resulting in an inadequate amount of coffee grinds. Pot is a total disappointment and not worth the money. Our Cuisinart grind and brew was much better.Date published: 2020-01-03Rated 5 out of 5 by WSmomma from Such a smooth cup of coffee ☕️ I just got this for Christmas and I’m already so glad! I’ve gone through two Cuisinart grind and brews in the past ten or so years and finally decided to upgrade to a Breville as I have several other Breville appliances that have become essential in my kitchen. Suffice it to say that I couldn’t wait to brew my first cup on Christmas morning. I am delighted that it’s not as noisy grinding the beans as the Cuisinart was. Also, I appreciate being able to select how fine or coarse I want my beans to be. Finally, I am thrilled at how smooth the texture is! I am a one cup a day girl but this has definitely made me return for a second cup. Hoping that it stays easy to clean! Very pleased.Date published: 2019-12-28Rated 2 out of 5 by Emmie from Short Life Span For the money, this grind/brew coffee maker from Breville is a bad investment. From day 1, I’ve had to take it completely apart for weekly cleanings, and in spite of using only filtered water, monthly de-scalings. At 1.5 years, it started leaking....watery coffee all over the countertop and floor. This leakage was intermittent at first, so I simply worked harder at keeping the machine well-maintained. Well, here we are at the 2 year point, and I have had to put the machine on a large tray to catch the 1 cup of DAILY leaked fluids. Pour an entire cup of water on your kitchen counter....it’s a huge mess! I’m done with Princess Breville. She’s too much work for me.Date published: 2019-12-21Rated 2 out of 5 by rockboy22 from Grinder fail after 2.7 years The grind control beast is beautifully clad in SS and brew performance is excellent. However with only a 1 year warranty and my (similarly) failed 2.7 yr. experience, it can't match the 3 year warranty and price of a competitor burr grind and brew. Breville needs to either improve durability or warranty guarantee to stay relevant. I happily own 3 other Breville appliances.Date published: 2019-11-20
BPA free?The Breville® Grind Control™ is BPA free.Date published: 2019-06-11
We purchased the Breville Grind Control Coffee maker from W&S .....we cannot get rid of the error code stating it needs descaling. We have cleaned it so many times with white vinegar and water as suggested. Is there another cleaner you recommend? One thing to make sure is that the machine is actually in descale mode. Make sure that once the tank is filled, the STRENGTH button is pressed and held for 5 seconds so that the process begins automatically. If that button is not held, the brewer is essentially just brewing a pot of coffee which won't clean the machine as intended and the process is not complete until the READY message appears on the screen. If the DESCALE message is still showing please contact our consumer support team for more in-depth troubleshooting and resolution.Date published: 2019-05-27
