Here, we dress up the classic cosmo for the winter holidays, replacing cranberry juice with our cranberry-apple cocktail mixer and cranberry bitters. Fresh dill adds flair and flavor to the drink.
- 6 juniper berries
- 4 fresh dill sprigs
- 1 tsp. superfine sugar
- Ice cubes as needed
- 1 fl. oz. (30 ml) gin
- 1 fl. oz. (30 ml) aquavit
- 3 dashes of cranberry bitters
- 1 1/2 fl. oz. (45 ml) Cape Cod cranberry-apple cocktail mixer
In a cocktail shaker, muddle the juniper berries, 3 of the dill sprigs and the superfine sugar. Add ice to fill the shaker halfway. Pour in the gin, acquavit, bitters and cocktail mixer and shake for about 20 seconds. Strain into a coupe glass. Garnish with the remaining dill sprig and serve. Serves 1.
