The national drink of Brazil, caipirinha is made with a rum called cachaça, distilled from fresh sugarcane juice.

  • 4 Tbs. superfine (caster) sugar
  • 1 cup cachaça
  • Ice cubes as needed
  • 4 lemon slices

Directions:

Select 4 old-fashioned or short glasses. Put 1 lemon quarter and 1 Tbs. of the sugar in each glass. Muddle well with a muddler or the handle of a wooden spoon.
