Savor big burgers prepared in the Memphis style. These are made from a custom blend of three cuts of beef—short ribs, brisket and chuck—to ensure exceptional texture with the perfect amount of fat for flavor. For the finishing touch, the grilled patties are drizzled with a classic tomato-and-vinegar-based sauce from Tennessee’s Hog Heaven restaurants.
- 1 1/2 lb. LaFrieda ultimate burger blend
- 2 tsp. Memphis rib rub
- 4 hamburger buns
- Sliced dill pickles for serving
- Sliced red onion for serving
- BBQ Fight Club Punchin’ Pig mild barbecue sauce for serving
Prepare a medium-hot fire in a grill.
Divide the burger blend into 4 portions, each 6 oz. Using a double patty press according to the manufacturer’s instructions, form 4 patties. Sprinkle the patties on each side with 1/4 tsp. of the rib rub.
Place the burgers on the grill and cook for 4 to 5 minutes. Turn the burgers over and cook for 4 minutes more for medium, or until done to your liking.
Meanwhile, place the buns, cut sides down, on the grill and toast for about 1 minute.
Place a burger on the bottom half of each bun. Top with pickle and onion slices and drizzle with barbecue sauce. Cover each with the top half of a bun. Serve immediately with more sauce on the side. Serves 4.
