Why wait for water to boil on the stovetop when you can prepare eggs to perfection in an air fryer, either soft-cooked or hard-cooked. To create a savory breakfast sandwich, peel and slice the eggs, then pile them on toasted bread with your favorite fixings—for a BLT, add crisp bacon, juicy tomato and a few lettuce leaves, or layer on your favorite sausage and cheese. Or enjoy your eggs plain and simple sprinkled with Gaby Dalkin’s This Is Everything Seasoning, paired with a latte or cappuccino. It’s a Test Kitchen favorite!

Directions:

Preheat an air fryer to 300°F (150°C) according to the manufacturer’s instructions.

Gently place the eggs in the fry basket, taking care not to overcrowd them. Insert the basket into the air fryer and cook for 8 minutes for soft-cooked or up to 12 minutes for hard-cooked.

Meanwhile, fill a bowl with ice and water. When the eggs are done, immediately transfer them to the ice water to stop the cooking. Let the eggs cool to the touch, then peel them and serve as desired. Makes 6 to 12 eggs.
