- Use & Care
- Always use caution when handling sharp objects.
- Avoid cutting on hard surfaces such as stone, metal or glass.
- It is not advisable to use any knife but a meat cleaver to cut through bone, as other blades can be easily damaged.
- Hand-wash with warm water and a mild detergent. Rinse and dry immediately.
- Maintain the knife's cutting edge by regularly using a honing steel.
- Sharpen as needed. With regular use and honing, your knife should not need sharpening more than once or twice a year.
- Sharpen knife at home using a whetstone or knife sharpener, or have it sharpened by a professional.
- Store knife in a safe place to protect its edge and prevent injury.

I need a lighter weight knife due to a decrease in grip strength. These knives meet that requirement. They are laser cut, not forged. These will probably not be an heirloom, but they keep me happy in the kitchen with a sharp, sharp blade, nice balance, sweet grip. Both knives in this set are not the same weight as if you had bought them separately. Very light weight, which to me signifies lesser quality. I plan to return this set. I just have to get used to having REAL knives vs the crud I've been cutting with for the last fifteen years. I have NEVER sliced such thin slices of zucchini or oranges.. so thin! I feel like an artist when I'm using them, or a real chef.
