Rated 2 out of 5 by Ashley from Tare Stopped So disappointed that not even a year and the tare stops working. Waste of money.Date published: 2019-01-13Rated 2 out of 5 by MazzaM from Touchless Zero Tara Feature Stopped Working I agree with the other reviews concerning this defect. Only way to reset the weight back to zero is to manually shut the scale off then turn it back on. So the scale isn’t touchless as advertised.Date published: 2018-12-14Rated 1 out of 5 by Anonymous from Avoid: Touchless feature broke and no help from CS I was very excited about this sleek and beautifully designed scale, I also saw no others on the market I liked (visually). You can get a scale pretty cheap anywhere, but I paid more for mine to look cool. After very light use, maybe two or three times, the Touchless Tare broke. I contacted customer support, no one replied to my email after months. Thanks guys. Avoid it or be okay with that feature breaking and no one replying to your emails in customer support.Date published: 2018-12-02Rated 1 out of 5 by Bettesoff from Needs to be corded Battery life is horrible don’t buy. It’s a pain to change the batteries with those 4 tiny screws.Date published: 2018-11-23Rated 2 out of 5 by blue from Tare Stopped Working Same problem as another reviewer experienced. The touchless tare worked for about 2 months. It stopped working. That's bad because tare is a pretty important feature in kitchen scales. You can work around it, but then it deserves no more than 2 stars at this point.Date published: 2018-10-27Rated 5 out of 5 by Frenchpastry from Works flawlessly ! I wanted to use this scale for some time before reviewing. I am a baker and use it at least three times a week and it has worked perfectly and accurately. You have to move your hand slowly over the tare sensor and it works every time. I bought the larger size and I am happy I did. Just a quick wipe down when finished and it looks like new. I like the sleek black finish but when you work with flour all day it does show all the dust.Date published: 2018-10-12Rated 1 out of 5 by richardmoore from Less than thrilled I have to agree with two other reviews in both of their observations. I got the scale out of the box and it didn't work. I checked the manual and it indicated I needed to insert the batteries, but there weren't any. I turn over the scale and the battery compartment is secured with four tiny philips screws. So now I had to go on a hunt for my jewelers screwdriver set. I already need a drink. I finally get the panel off and a plastic tab required removal. Why the tab couldn't have been inserted such that I could have pulled it without having to unscrew the back is beyond me. So now I try the touchless tare feature with my badly needed drink. I put my had over the sensor and the scale beeps and zeros out as expected, but the tare icon doesn't come on. After repeated attempts the icon simply won't illuminate. I finally press the touchless tare button (or what looks like a button) and the tare icon comes on! But wait. Isn't this supposed to be a touchless scale? After fooling with the scale for another half hour I can't figure out if it's a button or not, as the scale doesn't seem to operate precisely as described in the manual. The tare icon goes on and off without rhyme or reason. I remain clueless and am on my second glass now. Probably returning tomorrow. Seems to function okay but if the display doesn't work as described that's indicative of trouble down the road in my opinion. Disappointing.Date published: 2018-08-29Rated 1 out of 5 by msivick from Touchless Sensor Stopped working after 1 month It was great while it lasted. I put my plate on it, waved my hand over the sensor to zero out the plate's weight then added my food and it quickly added up the weights. This was so easy and I loved it .... until the touchless sensor stopped working. Now it's just an expensive food scale. There is now no way to put a plate on and zero out the weight. Super disappointed. I hope I can return it. I took great care of it and followed all of the directions. It was never dropped or in anyway mishandled. Perhaps just having a manual override to zero out the plate would help rather than just relying on the sensor.Date published: 2018-06-24
I have this scale and once I turn it on it gives me an error message . It comes up with “out2l. Any idea of the issue? I tried changing the battery but to no avail. I just bought this around 6 months ago and use it intermittently so it should last a lHi Frustrated, We're not sure if this is the issue based on the error message but it might be that the touchless feature was accidently disabled. Here are some instructions: • The touchless tare can be disabled if you press and hold the unit button for 2 seconds. They should press and hold the unit button for 2 seconds and it will turn the touchless tare feature back on. When they first put their finger on the unit button it will beep, then after 2 seconds it will beep again and the units will not change, this is how they know the tare has been activated again. Touching the unit button once and removing your finger right away it will beep and the unit will change. • Unfortunately there is no indication as to if the touchless tare feature is on or off other than to try it. o When the feature is off you can still tare the scale by using the power button. Push the power button so it beeps and immediately remove your finger. Do not press and hold the power button as it will turn the scale off. • For the tare icon, that only comes on if the user has tared out more than 600 (smaller scale) or 1200 (larger scale) grams. When the icon is on the user will no longer have full capacity for the remaining weight. For example: o On the small scale if the capacity is 5000g, if you tare anything less than 600 g you can still get a displayed weight of 5000g to appear. However, if you tare out 600g or more the scale will show oL (overload) before it reaches 5000 g. • Disabling touchless tare feature o This section is explained in the manual, however, it also says that the default is that the Touchless Tare feature is “ON”. It further says every time you turn the scale on the Touchless Tare feature is active. That is not correct. If the feature is disabled when you turn it off (or it auto offs) then the feature will still be disabled when you turn it back on.Date published: 2018-12-03
