Rated 5 out of 5 by EurekaFoodie from LOVE these tongs! These tongs are great fun to use, guests and guest chefs love them. I have to fight to make sure they come home with me every time I take them to a family dinner. I’ve used them for tossing and serving salads, sautéing and serving hot vegies, meat, frying tortillas. And they are easy to clean!Date published: 2019-08-19Rated 3 out of 5 by Mr Py from Try gravity locking tong, works? I bought 2 of each size of the previous WS gravity locking tong Including 2 of each of the tongs with teflon ends (WAS EXPENSIVE) and from the reviews about the success of the gravity mechanism nothing may have changed. I would put them in the draw and they open up with as little motion as someone opening up the front door, thus taking a feat of Congress (when not in recess!) to get the drawer opened cause the tong is now wedged in the drawer and the drawer frame. Defeats the purpose of the expensive tongs. Gonna try this one cause it is a great idea and will let you know how the new model works better.Date published: 2019-07-13Rated 5 out of 5 by Seriouscoffee from Magic tongs So far I love these tongs. The mechanism is elegant. These are what I have been looking for, I’m coming back for more. I read others reviews and I have fingers crossed they are long lasting.Date published: 2019-05-11Rated 1 out of 5 by C A P from Great idea, terrible execution Approximately 3 weeks after we received these tongs, the automatic open/close function stopped working, and the tongs are now permanently closed. I ended up with tongs that were unusable. I would not recommend this item to anyone.Date published: 2018-11-27Rated 1 out of 5 by JodiTX from Awful! Pinch and cut my hand!!! The side design of this product is awful. The device acts like scissors on your skin if you are not careful. The end of any tongs should NOT overlap as these do. I had earlier purchase a different pair in store that I loved and thought nothing of just picking these up since I like the locking mechanism. I have used them twice and both times I have been injured. Taking them BACK!!!Date published: 2017-08-12Rated 2 out of 5 by 3mmtt from Great concept but longevity not likely Approximately four years ago, we bought all of the WS collection in stainless & silicone tipped. Unfortunately the locking mechanism in these tongs has "frozen" in both sizes of the stainless tongs rendering them useless albeit still beautiful. I really loved these tongs, but for the investment, they should last much, MUCH longer.Date published: 2017-05-20Rated 5 out of 5 by KelticMB from Great Tongs These are the best tongs. I would not use any other tongs for inside cooking. I wish they would make this in 18 inches. Love the ability to lock it. It is very easy to lock and unlock.Date published: 2015-12-31Rated 1 out of 5 by SweetPea7 from HATE these tongs I'm a woman with relatively small to average sized/strength hands. Don't know if the other reviewers are male or female which might affect their opinions based on hand size/strength. For me, doing any sustained cooking with them, the spring action is exhausting for my hands to be able to hold onto them for any period of time. I most notice this when pan frying anything which requires individually flipping items. The locking action is incredibly annoying as in the process of cooking you're often moving your tongs up in the air to re-grip, etc. And the lock often comes unlocked when I put them away in my cook's tools crock right next to the stove. Much prefer the old school kind with the bit of metal at the top that you pull out to intentionally lock. If you're considering, I'd reco to try in store picking up and putting down a few things...oven mitts for example, to get a feel for these.Date published: 2015-11-29
