Rated 5 out of 5 by dnblume from So versatile! When registering for our wedding gifts, I wanted a select few pots & pans based on how we cook instead of a whole set to save on space. I LOVE the design of this ultimate pan. The base is flat enough that I can use it as a skillet so we didn't register for a separate skillet! Best chicken I've ever browned! And the size is nice if you want to make bigger portions. The two handles and its weight make it easy to maneuver. It is a beautiful design, but discolors easily b/c it is stainless steel so takes a little more maintenance to keep spotless. It's not a huge deal to me, but might be something to keep in mind if you care about how your pans lookDate published: 2018-11-02Rated 3 out of 5 by BeeCeeEss from Not a 5-quart pan If you are looking for a 4-quart pan, this one will be terrific. It's beautifully made and cooks evenly with a nice, tight-fitting lid. It distributes heat evenly and browns meats nicely. It is even stamped on the bottom "5 quart". However, it is NOT a 5-quart capacity pan. When I measured its capacity by pouring water into it from a 1-quart measuring cup until it was full, I was dismayed to find that it holds only 4 quarts with a smidgen--and I do mean smidgen--of room left at the top. I could not have gotten even one more cup of water in this pan. I do a lot of recipes that require a 5-quart pan to allow enough room for stirring and tossing food while cooking. That extra 1 quart of capacity makes a big difference in not winding up with food spilling all over my stove. I am very disappointed in this pan and in Williams Sonoma for the inaccurate description. If you want a 4-quart pan, this one is very worthwhile.Date published: 2018-05-14
