The deep, smoky flavors of barrel-aged whiskey are the perfect partner for the delicate sweetness of pure maple syrup. We've blended them with savory beef stock and red wine vinegar, finishing the sauce with mellow garlic and thyme. Combine with sautéed beef, chicken or pork, then transfer to the oven to finish cooking. Serve your hearty homemade braise with polenta, rice or mashed potatoes.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Quigley from Acidic Horrible Heart Burn We use a Williams-Sonoma Sauce at least once a month and have for the last 8 years. We were thrilled when we heard about the Maple Bourbon. We tried this with wonderful lamb from a local butcher which we have used several times with no problem. We had company for dinner and everyone raved about the taste. However, by the end of dinner everyone was complaining about the acidity and inevitable heart-burn. Was very disappointed. Glad I didn't buy 2.Date published: 2017-09-18Rated 5 out of 5 by Hiddencook from Delicious on a cold evening My husband and I made this using short ribs and it was delicious! We made it in a Staub pot (not a slow cooker) and simmered it for hours until the meat fell off of the bone. We didn't add anything to it and served it with mashed potatoes and asparagus. I've used several WS sauces and this is definitely one of the best.Date published: 2016-12-18
