Rated 5 out of 5 by LauraE from Making Memories with Grandma! I don’t have these particular pancake dies but I do have the old style. My grandson LOVED his Christmas and Halloween pancakes! Now he’s 17 and he remembers when I made them for his breakfast as a toddler.Date published: 2019-09-18Rated 5 out of 5 by ag318 from Works great, toddler approved Saw this and had to buy it for my toddler who loves pancakes and dinosaurs. I was really worried that they wouldn’t work because of the one star reviews and the closest store was over an hour away if I needed to return them. I also ordered the animal set too (because I had to have the elephant mold). I have used olive oil or Pam cooking spray to grease up the silicone and have had zero issues with the pancakes sticking. I let my pan get hot, place the molds and add the pancake mixture using OXO condiment bottle. I wait until the pancake gets pretty bubbly and dry looking before I even attempt to put the tab up. I will say that the stegosaurus mold was the hardest out of all but still turned out great.Date published: 2019-06-27Rated 5 out of 5 by Eve C from Really cute, didn’t have issues. It does have a learning curve, but it only took me one pancake to adjust. I used a brush to apply vegetable oil on the mold instead of cooking spray, and I didn’t have any issues releasing it. I used a thick batter that I put into a piping bag. I cooked it on lowest setting, and let it bubble before I tried to release it from the mold.Date published: 2019-05-18Rated 4 out of 5 by HappyKitchen from Worth learning if you like shapes If you like cute food as much as I do and/or have a kid or adult who does in your house, these are worth learning. I took off one star because they're a bit of a hassle, but the end result is so awesome that I consider it totally worth it. I sort of formed an assembly line with these. I had one being poured into, one slightly loosened and moved down the line, and one sitting on a plate ready to be prepped again for use. Tips to make this work: 1. Lower your pan temperature until the bottom browns but doesn't burn by the time the top is set. 2. Don't attempt to remove from the mold until the top is set. 3. Pour the batter into the difficult areas first and the middle last. 4. Spray your mold and use a brush in the tight areas. 5. Make sure the tight areas are loose by bending the mold until you see it separate. Use a toothpick if it won't let go. 6. Use slightly runny batter. I sprayed mine with Bak-Klene (that's all I had) and used a small silicone brush. I used a ceramic surface pan with a touch of butter on very low heat. They came out really cute. I wish I had a double burner griddle to make more at a time.Date published: 2019-05-16Rated 5 out of 5 by Krysten2010 from Best Mom!!! I bought these in a whim (3 different sets). I didn’t read the reviews before hand. After they arrived I read the reviews. First time making them I followed what everyone said and made them one at a time in the stovetop. Pancakes were thin and it was a challenge. Today, I made them on an electric griddle and my pancake game is ROCKING! I did spray them and used a toothpick around the edges to separate before removing the mold. They came out perfect and fluffy (didn’t make a thinner batter). Can’t wait to try again with colored batter. I’m so excited about these!Date published: 2019-05-11Rated 5 out of 5 by Danielle from These are great! If you read the other reviews they might sound bad but they were awesome! I read the other reviews, made them a little thinner than normal, sprayed with nonstick spray, and poured the batter from my measuring cup. Really make sure they get cooked before you try to flip them over and you might have to bend the silicone in spots to get it to loosen up when you remove the mold. The t-Rex was the hardest but if your kids like dinosaurs as much as mine they are TOTALLY worth it!!Date published: 2019-05-01Rated 1 out of 5 by Jade from Great idea, poor execution I tried these several times with different thickness of batter. These just aren't made to work with pancake batter. Too thin and it comes out the bottom, too thick and it can't be spread under the details (eyes, spots, etc.). But the batter can't really spread around the details even when thin. These were just not tested before being produced I believe. The details also make the molds impossible to clean. I really loved the idea and wanted this to work but it did not. I couldn't return them as they were a gift and I didn't have a receipt. I had to throw them away which was upsetting.Date published: 2019-04-28Rated 1 out of 5 by HWReston from Better in theory than in practice Oh how I wish I read the reviews before buying. These things are a MESS.Date published: 2019-04-27
