- Hand-wash with hot, soapy water. Dry thoroughly.
- Do not soak or submerge board in water.
- Occasionally rub with a food-safe mineral oil to keep wood from drying out.
- To sanitize, wash the board with a solution of one part vinegar to five parts water.
- Remove odors by rubbing the board with kosher or table salt and half a lemon. Let sit for 2 to 3 minutes then wipe clean with a damp cloth. Remove excess moisture with a clean paper towel and stand the board on end to air dry.

Rated 5 out of 5 by All Clad D5 Lover from I like this board alot and serves my purpose well! I use this board about once a week for veggies and fruits, as well as some other things except poultry, meat, or fish (I have a separate board for those items for sanitary reasons and separating). However, this board has served me well for about a year. I have not had the glue issue as other consumers and this was a concern for me once reading the reviews. My board arrived in great condition and I removed the packaging without a trace of glue! It was so easy and without any problems! The board works well with my German Wusthof Knives as they do not damage them in any way and they do not leave any marks on the board. I purchased the oil for resealing from WS, which has worked well, too. My board looks like new one year later and like everything else I purchase from WS (most of my cookware and tools), it works well. It was also cheaper than buying other boards which can be $200.00 or $300.00 dollars. I was able to buy this on sale and I am pleased with my purchase.Date published: 2020-01-15Rated 4 out of 5 by Goodfoster from Good board especially on sale I purchased this board in a rush. My smaller, older thinner, board broke in half just before cooking for family. Needing a quality board for my expensive Japanese knives I rushed out to find a suitable board. WS was my third stop after the first two had horrible examples of cheaper boards of the same wood. Thankfully there was a sale which brought the price down to a more real world price(within $10 of other quality acacia boards of similar size). The board came in a semi smooth raw finish as someone else said rough finish but this is fairly normal. After the must do oilling process the finish is smooth and the wood took the oils great and made the wood have a very attractive finish. The surface isn’t exactly perfectly flat. There are very small waves in between each section of wood that could be block sanded down flat but realistically this isn’t a problem but for the money it could be a bit more even. The glue dots from the label are kinda ridiculous. The end grain of the wood really soaked that glue up. There’s just no need for the glue anyway considering how it was packaged. The glue isn’t a deal breaker unless you’re just a finish snob. On my board they ended up being about 1/4 blob shaped marks that you don’t notice after oil and use. If this board is a Show piece that you’re afraid to use then you will see them, otherwise get a grip, use the board and develop character on the surface and the glue won’t bother you. People that will use the board won’t care. Other than the Williams Sonoma price(not sale price) that puts this board almost twice the cost of other quality boards, this is a really good board. If you like the WS branding you’ll be happy with this board over the othe board/wood combos they offer for three times the cost. I’m happy with my purchase at sale price ;-)Date published: 2019-02-09Rated 1 out of 5 by kristas from Came damaged and has a rough textured look I got this as a wedding present and when we unwrapped it, the sticky part of the packaging left two visible sticker dots on the cutting board. Tried washing it off and it still remained. Also, the visual texture looks to be scuffed all over. Not sure if thats just the wood or if it is actual damage. Returning this immediately.Date published: 2018-05-08Rated 4 out of 5 by EmilyD from Perfect size and very pretty I was worried this would be too big for my small kitchen with limited counter space but it is perfect and I love it. I did almost return it because the sticker/glue used to attach the wrapping left large dark marks on the front that I could not get off (I even tried goo-gone), but I decided I liked the back (plain, without "Williams Sonoma") better anyway so I just flipped it over and my husband added rubber feet to the bad side (not only will it dry better with feet but it also prevents slipping! Just make sure to level it ;). I've been using it for about two months and have oiled it a few times and you can still see the sticker marks if you look at it from an angle, but it also hasn't been scrubbed much on that side. I'm very glad that I chose this one instead of the slightly smaller but more expensive ones I was considering because the size is perfect and it's gorgeous and after doing some research I've learned that end-grain Acacia is really ideal for cutting boards. When I received it it was slightly more washed-out than the photo but it darkened beautifully after I oiled it. I've had some Acacia wood products that had an overpowering smell or made my food taste like Acacia but that hasn't been a problem. It is also not too heavy or unwieldy to clean, but I do have a very large sink so you might want to measure.Date published: 2017-06-29
