Staub's innovative enamel coating takes cast-iron cooking to the next level with improved performance, style and durability. This universal pan features a large cooking surface and high sides to contain splatters – ideal for frying, sautéing and searing as well as braising and slow simmering.

- For best results use low to medium heat.
- When using high heat, bring your pan slowly to a high temperature.
- Use plastic, wood or nylon utensils only; metal utensils may damage the enamel.
- Enamel may chip or crack if banged against a hard surface.
- Handles and knobs can become very hot. Always use a potholder or glove when handling.
- Allow pan to cool before washing.
- Dishwasher safe.
- Stubborn stains can be removed by soaking your pot for a few minutes in hot, soapy water.
- Completely dry pan before storing.
- Avoid using steel wool, steel scouring pads, harsh detergents, bleach or abrasive cleaners.

For an additional charge of $26 per address, we can expedite delivery to most destinations. Orders received by 9:00 p.m. ET Monday through Thursday will arrive the next business day; orders placed Friday through Sunday will arrive on the following Tuesday.

Staub traces its origin to the Alsace region of France, where founder Francis Staub designed his first enameled pot while working in an old French artillery factory in 1974. With the goal of creating the perfect pot for cooking the region's traditional hearty soups, stews and braises, he combined cast iron, the most popular material of the time, with the latest enameling technology available. Today, Staub still makes its cookware at a traditional atelier in France, casting each pot in an individual sand mold, which is heated to 800°F and destroyed after use. The exterior enamel coating is made with glass powder and mineral pigments, applied in two or three coats to generate brilliant glossy colors.

The Staub Universal Pan was my first piece of Staub cookware and I bought it because it is compatible with my glass stovetop. Perfectly smooth on the bottoms and have never scratched my glass top. I have replaced all my cookware, except for my sauce pans and turkey roaster with Staub because it is absolutely the best cast iron by far, beats the heck out of the LC brand. The Universal Pan and the 13" Paella Pan are the most used pans in my kitchen and are also my favorites to give as gifts. I am more than happy with the cast iron pan! I sealed it by heating up equal parts of vinegar and water and letting it rest for an hour. Then drained and dried the pan and placed 3 tbl. of flaxseed oil inside and applied it to the surface. Flaxseed oil is edible food grade linseed oil. It sealed the surface and it works beautifully. I do use olive oil, butter, coconut oil when cooking. Nothing sticks. I cooked eggs, pork, chicken, beef. If anything is slightly stuck, a bit of baking soda or barkeepers friend removes it. Be sure to follow written instructions on this pan, meaning let it heat up and cool down gradually. The only fear is the glass lid breaking as I doubt they will replace it. I bought this about a month ago and have used it almost daily. I had been looking for something like it to be my go to pan and it is! Other reviewers complained that to clean it up was tricky. However, I have found useful the recommendation that came in the manual book (p.24). Clean it under warm water with dishwashing liquid and an on-abrasive sponge and plastic brush. Also, they recommend hat if there's anything good residue left to soak your pot in warm water or boil water (I did the latter) and dishwashing liquid/baking soda to remove it. Anything is just plain better in this pan, but especially love it for onions and mushrooms. Perfect size, love the angled sides that are just the right height. Easy to clean up.
