- Ideal for use on any cooktop, including induction.
- Oven and broiler safe up to 500°F.
- No seasoning required; for best results use low to medium heat.
- When using high heat, bring pan slowly to a high temperature.
- Use plastic, wood or nylon utensils only; metal utensils may damage enamel.
- Enamel may chip or crack if banged against a hard surface.
- Handles and knobs can become very hot. Always use pot holder or glove when handling.
- Allow pan to cool before washing.
- Dishwasher safe.
- Stubborn stains can be removed by soaking pot for a few minutes in hot, soapy water.
- Completely dry pan before storing.
- Avoid using steel wool, steel scouring pads, harsh detergents, bleach or abrasive cleaners.

I made a potato au gratin casserole in it tonight and it cooked perfectly. Lifted right out of the pan and easy, easy cleanup. I will be using this gratin baker often and, hopefully, for many years to come. I switched out the regular knob for the fish knob. I am normally a Le Creuset pot person but after having this pot I am definitely in love. I made a perch/rockfish in it with oil cured oilives, fiddle heads, shiitake mushrooms, garlic. Even though the pot is big the fish was bigger LOL. I had to cut off the tail and put it in the pot. It came out with a nice crisp outer skin. Almost no effort. I can also say it tasted awesome. I have used the pot for other dishes as well including lamb w/okra and cauliflower rice. It does anything I ask of it. My friends have been visiting and get take their hands off the pot. It weighs a bit but that is what cast iron is all about. I splurged on this as a gift to myself and it is beautiful ! I had been looking for a cast-iron pan to cook a whole fish, that was low profile and oval. I will clean out my kitchen and discard a few unused baking dishes and cooking pans to make room for this and more! It really is gorgeous. Knowing that my husband procrastinates at Christmas, I held my breath that it would still be available. I finally lured him into a store and showed him this beauty. Casually mentioning how “really good a rainbow trout might taste from this pan with a nice white wine”. He took the bait hook, line and sinker! It’s a beautiful addition to my lake house kitchen and I expect to use it on many occasions. Heavy, yet mobile. Browns evenly, and perfectly. I made a large frittata and it worked fantastically. Will make an au gratin potato dish with creamy roasted chicken soon. I missed the Stag embossed 5qt but pray it comes back. Le Creuset has the colors that I love, but Staub performs just as well if not better and more consistently offers lids at a slightly lower price point. I have Le Creuset cast iron shallow oval roasters and au Gratin pans that are similar to this piece that were quite a bit more expensive and which came without a lid. For me, I use the lids to prevent extra browning, to retain moisture, to retain heat when serving, and of course for storage. I love that I will not have to use foil or some type of plastic wrap with this. I bought this one because it is larger and could fit a whole fish. I am very satisfied at how well this one performed. Amazing results. The fish was cooked frozen and I didn't thaw it. I ran the fish under cold water to dissolve ice crystals, patted it dry with a paper towel, seasoned it, put it into the hot oiled pan skin side down, placed the lid and left it on the stovetop on medium heat for 16 minutes without peeking. Fish skin was surprisingly crispy, and the flesh was moist and flakey. Delicious meal. The fish released easily with a firm spatula. Clean up was easy. I am looking forward to the next use of this pan!
