Rated 3 out of 5 by CupcakeLuv from It's a good kettle but After 4 years I just got tired of cleaning it. Copper pots are easy but this kettle has so many crevices, bends, etc. that cleaning and polishing became a chore. The whistle isn't too exciting just incredibly loud and I never really found it that aesthetically pleasing either. My stove is propane and I live at sea level and find I can boil water quickly in a saucepan. I don't know that this kettle saved much time in that way either.Date published: 2019-05-16Rated 5 out of 5 by sprewster from Workhorse My wife purchased this for a Holiday gift in 2000. I have used it almost everyday for 19 years. We like the natural patina but i have polished it in the past and it looks beautiful either way. Worth the investment.Date published: 2019-01-20Rated 5 out of 5 by DrSpeed from A cherished kitchen item My husband gave me this kettle as a gift the first Christmas we were married--in 2002. How often can you say that you use a gift every day for 16 years? I enjoy using it to make my morning tea, and now my husband uses it for his French press coffee. A cherished household item!Date published: 2018-07-08Rated 5 out of 5 by Meme from Long time friend! We have had this kettle for well over 15 years and use it every day. I guess we use it correctly - we certainly empty it at each use but, we are not polishers! It has beautiful patina and we have had many people drool over it! (Not the cause of the patina!). We have not had any of the problems mentioned in the one review - it’s a wonderful kettle.Date published: 2018-06-19Rated 1 out of 5 by dlp57 from So disappointed After coveting this tea kettle at a friend's house for years I finally decided to splurge. I expected this to be a lifetime purchase and was so excited to own such a lovely piece and a brand with such a history. It is absolutely beautiful. Unfortunately the lid is so tight and ill fitting that nearly every time it is opened it is a battle. The worst part is that wanting to care for it in the best way possible I empty the water each time it is used as recommended, especially because our water is quite hard. Following the struggle to remove the lid to fill it, there is another struggle to leave it ajar so the kettle dries which means often getting burned with the steam. Not fond of the noise that the rattling metal ball makes in the spout either. So sad that I can not return since a friend brought it to me and I am outside the US.Date published: 2018-02-09
