Rated 5 out of 5 by Keggie from Fabulous Tea Kettle I was given this tea kettle as a gift 20 yrs ago! This tea kettle looks and functions like it is brand new. I love this tea kettle.Date published: 2019-04-01Rated 3 out of 5 by Dog grandma from Falling Apart After a Good Long Life This kettle has been my daily friend for over 20 years. Now it is falling apart. The metal that encases the coils is disintegrating and leaving flakes all over my stovetop. I am a bit disappointed in this. Metal should not be expected to corrode. WS says that it cannot get it refurbished. So I guess this is a sad and reluctant farewell .Date published: 2018-12-30Rated 4 out of 5 by dukeone from Mostly fine......... So this beautiful stove top kettle works just fine (not difficult for a tea kettle) and has just one flaw; the handle is not copper and the nuts and bolts that hold the handle on are also steel. The mounting "foot" of the handle is rusting. It will still last a hundred years before rusting through but at the price any defect is worth mentioning.Date published: 2018-08-09Rated 5 out of 5 by Greg from Most beautiful tea kettle I have ever owned. I purchased this tea kettle several years ago and was remiss in not posting a review sooner. This tea kettle looks like a work of art sitting on my stove. It has performed beautifully and still looks brand new after years of use. I suggest that one follow the manufacturers guide for use and cleaning. Don't turn the heat up so high that flames are coming up around the outside and don't let it get splattered with grease while cooking! I have taken care with mine and it is still as beautiful as the day I bought it. I and my family drink a lot of tea so it gets used at least twice a day.Date published: 2018-04-08Rated 5 out of 5 by smeary from ACTING OUT AN ANGLO-FRANCOPHILE PHANTASY Fits perfectly with my desire to "put the kettle on" and have a "cuppa." Though, admittedly, we tend to stick with Mariage Freres teas.Date published: 2018-03-30Rated 5 out of 5 by KTCA66 from Works well and looks great, owned for 15 years now I love this kettle and happy I purchased it years ago from W-S. Yes the paint on wooden handle peels a little from the steam, but I simply use a permanent marker to fix it. Still works and looks great after 15 years of regular use.Date published: 2018-03-22Rated 5 out of 5 by holyshamrock from Top ten best kitchen purchases You wouldn't think a tea kettle could be amazing but this one is. I've owned my Simplex teapot for years. With daily use it still looks like it did the day I bought it. My mom has one that she's had for over ten years and she feels the same way about hers. Can't beat the look on my stovetop, the feel of the turned wooden handle or the made-in-England quality.Date published: 2018-02-11Rated 1 out of 5 by CBNC from bought this a year ago The style of the tea kettle is classic and it looks great on my stove, however, the kettle leaks through the screws at the top when tilted to pour. And the wooden handle is peeling and part of the circular knob on the lid broke off. Quality is sub par.Date published: 2017-10-31
