Rated 2 out of 5 by Noel from Lacquer cracked Bought this a year ago, within few months the bottom part cracked and now it’s completely broken. The mill does grind fine and if not for the cracked lacquer I would give it a better rating.Date published: 2018-06-23Rated 1 out of 5 by RobinL from Paint Peels I bought this awhile ago in the buttercup yellow color. The paint peeled so bad about 2 inches from the bottom. Never washed, just wiped with towel. Tried to return, but WS refused because of the time frame of purchase. Personally, I was shocked.Date published: 2017-08-25Rated 5 out of 5 by Senior Cook from Love them I received these as a gift more than 10 years ago. They look just as good AND work just as well now as they did when new. They have been on the table every day since I received them. We seldom eat out, so these are used daily. I occasionally wipe them with a damp cloth, but that is all the care they get. I really enjoy using them.Date published: 2017-07-11Rated 1 out of 5 by bbcakes from Beautiful initially but... I received the set for my wedding 4 years ago. Immediately I noticed red lacquer dust accumulating on the mill as the external parts rubbed together during the grinding motion, not something you want in your food. Then small cracks began to form in the lacquer around the base and small chips began to fall off. Lastly, I wiped down the mills with a wet sponge and then the bottom rings swelled up so much they broke into pieces. Just horrible quality, a premium price for total breakdown in 4 years. I am not a novice or neglagent with my kitchen equipment.Date published: 2017-05-04Rated 4 out of 5 by MarkB from Buy the natural finished models. The enameled models look great...for a while. Eventually they will develop hairline cracks in the enamel and after that they will start to chip. This can be avoided by buying one of the natural finish models. Occasionally the peppercorns will jam up and not fall into the grinder. That's usually easily resolved by a few quick shakes. I bought the 12 inch. I thought the 16 was just to likely to get knocked over at the table.Date published: 2015-04-24
