Revered as one of the world's great cheeses, Parmigiano-Reggiano is superb on its own, nibbled in small bits, or added as a one-of-a-kind savory flavor to countless dishes, from antipasti to salads to polenta and more. Authentic Parmigiano-Reggiano comes from Emilia-Romagna, the region in northern Italy that also produces true prosciutto di Parma and balsamic vinegar. Cheese makers there craft the cheese by hand using all-natural ingredients and following traditions almost 700 years old. The cheese is cut from wheels that have been aged at least 18 months and received the highest rating from the government’s Parmigiano-Reggiano consortium, which attests to its quality and authenticity.

- Use & Care
- Upon receipt, remove cheese from the shipping container and place on the bottom shelf or in the vegetable bin of the refrigerator; do not freeze. The cheese keeps up to 6 months if left in the refrigerator unopened; use within one month of opening.
- After each use, wrap any unused portion of cheese in one tight layer of clean plastic wrap.
- Enjoy cheese on its own accompanied by a glass of wine; add to antipasti, polenta or risotto; or grate over your favorite pasta or salad.
- Reserve the rind and use it to flavor soups or stews.
- Milk, salt, rennet (calf).

Next Day Delivery
For an additional charge of $26 per address, we can expedite delivery to most destinations. This service is not available for some oversize items, items shipped directly from the supplier (including perishable and custom-manufactured items), out-of-stock items and items to be shipped outside the contiguous 48 states.
Orders received by 9:00 p.m. ET Monday through Thursday will arrive the next business day; orders placed Friday through Sunday will arrive on the following Tuesday.

If within 30 days, you are dissatisfied for any reason, you may return your purchase for a refund of the merchandise value. An original receipt or gift receipt is required for all returns and exchanges. Returns with a gift receipt will be refunded in the form of a Merchandise Credit for the amount indicated on the gift receipt. Returns with original receipt will be refunded in the original form of payment, cash and check refunds over $100 will be issued as a company check (may take 14 business days from time of request).

The block is large enough to last a long time, and it held its delicious flavor until the end. I stored it in a Ziplock bag without wrapping it. The Parmigiano-Reggiano has a distinct flavor, and it is so much better than what I have found in grocers. This Parmigiano-Reggiano Cheese is authentic with just 3 natural ingredients and tastes delicious. Depending upon where you live, you can find imported good quality cheeses in the better grocery and cheese shops, but why hunt around when you can have it shipped right to your front door? Although, the directions say to wrap in plastic wrap and use within 1 month of opening. I buy the 2 and half pound wedge and I use it on everything! Fresh pasta, italian dishes, eggs, roasted veggies or just slice a hunk off and nibble with some italian balsamic. Parmesan crisps in the oven are out of this world! Grate some of the cheese into a 2 inch mound on a baking sheet and bake for 5 to 10 minutes on 350 degrees. It has a wonderful complex flavor that is truly authentic. I hope Williams Sonoma can keep this in stock because sometimes it goes on backorder. Don't hesitate on buying it or you might have to wait a few weeks. This cheese is not like store bought cheese, it is truly an amazing italian treat and you will not go back once you try it! If you do a lot of cooking and like to use fresh ingredients, this is a good buy. This is NOT the canned sprinkle cheese you get in the grocery store. It's a little more work, but grating your own Parm-Regg adds a great layer of flavor to Italian dishes and so much more. Mix some with shredded Mozzarella to make the Mozz easier to sprinkle. I have always wanted to try this Parmigiano Reggiano cheese but I live alone and am wondering if this 2 lb block would be too much and would spoil before I could use it. What is the best way to store unopened block so it would last longer?Hi plibby23497, Buy pieces/wedges that will last you just a week or two. Exposure to air causes the cheese to dry out and lose flavor, so keep it tightly wrapped in parchment paper or aluminum foil. Store in the cheese or veggie drawer of your refrigerator (40°F); freezing destroys its subtle nuances. When stored properly in the refrigerator, an unopened package can last between two and four months.
