Rated 5 out of 5 by KRoss from Massive and Gorgeous! The picture doesn't really show how LARGE this piece is....which totally justifies the price - it's a massive piece of beautiful marble. It's a conversation piece and it protects your investment in knives! I bet I could easily get 10 knives in this block. I took of photo of it next to my Kitchen Aid mixer and braiser to show the scale of this piece. Get it!!! You won't regret it! I bet the black marble version would be gorgeous too! This is a piece you will keep forever!Date published: 2018-05-26Rated 5 out of 5 by culinarydivas from STATEMENT PIECE I fall in love with impeccable quality, unique, functional, and wildly innovative pieces, and this was one I could not bear to miss! (I will admit, though, the sticker shock - even at 20% off is still present, though I don't regret the purchase.) This knife holder has a presence and quality that none of the others offered can even come close to...stunning. The fit of the kapoosh was exceptionally tight even without any knives present, yet I have 32 knifes in mine, including 10 large knives. The holder is heavy, but I like that - it speaks of the quality of the marble and the construction of the piece. With a kitchen that is quickly progressing to all white with a backdrop of very light grey, and an overabundance of knives for either my drawer space nor my block, this piece was exactly what I wanted! Great purchase!Date published: 2017-02-03Rated 5 out of 5 by CookingLove from Give Away the old Knife Block 4 stars for price, but 7 stars for beauty, quality & utility. I had just redone kitchen & countertops & marble was the go to for me (stainless steel would be awesome too). The Kapoosh is an amazing idea! I have 11 knives, a meat cleaver, 4 steak knives, 1 long handled fork & poultry shears in it. There is still room. You can arrange your knives as you would use them, go-to's in the front, specialty in the back, or sides. It's size is imposing at first & it is quite heavy, but it takes up way less room than the old wooden knife block that didn't hold nearly as much, or look nearly as lovely. My husband, who would normally eye-roll such a thing, was hugely impressed. Yup, statement piece. Yup, statement purchase. Yup, I'd do it again.Date published: 2016-07-06
Over time the rods have become very tightly packed and our knives will no longer fit. Can the insert and some of the rods be removed to create more room? If so, how? We have not been able to remove them as they are so tightly packed and won't budge.Hi wb22, There are probably some bent rods in your block that are preventing your knives from all fitting in there. Our recommendation is to turn the block upside down to remove the rod block. (They will not fall out into many pieces, all the rods are attached to a base.) If you can snip out the bent rods below the bend, this should allow you additional room to fit more knives.Date published: 2019-08-25
Will this keep ceramic knives safely?Hi ik003, This holder is made up of patented flex rods, which conform to the shape of individual tools. The Kapoosh® won't dull or chip knives like traditional wood insert blocks so it will work safely with ceramic knives. Please note you can use it with any type of knife with blades up to 8” long.Date published: 2019-07-23
