- More About Le Marais Bakery
Le Marais Bakery in San Francisco is winning top reviews for its authentic French croissants that whisk you away to Paris with their dreamy-light textures and superb flavors. Owner Patrick Ascaso, inspired by the boulangerie of his childhood in Arpajon, France, opened Le Marais in 2013. His recipes marry classic European techniques with fresh local California ingredients. All of the bakery's doughs are made in the artisanal tradition, with natural starters and long fermentation periods, hand mixed and rolled in small batches each day. Williams Sonoma is pleased to partner with Le Marais so that customers can bake and enjoy these amazing pastries at home.
Rated 5 out of 5 by BakingInNJ from Excellent product! I sent these Le Marais Pain au Chocolat to both my son and my daughter as a special care package. They both love these croissants! My daughter just confirmed that hers were received well packaged with dry ice and they were definitely frozen and not defrosted . I had the pleasure of visiting my son when he still had some of these croissants in his freezer. I prepped them Before going to bed and I egg washed them in the morning and baked them in the preheated oven - they were perfect! And absolutely delicious! I was fortunate to purchase them from William Sonoma when I had a 20% discount. Given how much my kids loved their “care package” I think they are worth every penny!Date published: 2019-10-30Rated 5 out of 5 by StevenH from Fantastic flavor We prepared these and we're delighted. Very easy and the tase was fantastic.Date published: 2019-07-24Rated 1 out of 5 by Boriboro from Poor packaging and disappointing flavors I received the product yesterday. I ordered the William Sonoma chocolate croissants as well as the mini ones to taste test which version of the chocolate croissants are the best. Both of the William Sonoma ones arrived with dry ice and foam boxes which helped them stay cold. Although these were supposed to be artisan and more 'high end' the packaging was very poor - didn't come in with dry ice, standard cardboard box with some insulation lining around it. The product felt cold but probably not frozen at that point, so I put them back to the freezer. When I tried to bake this morning, there was absolutely no baking instruction that came with the product, some advertisement leaflet about the company's history. It's 7am, I want to bake some croissants, not dig up recipes. I chucked them in the oven with the William Sonoma version using their recipe and of course, it was not the right recipe as it turns out. I will give it another go following their instruction which is to thaw for 8 hrs, and bake etc. However, I can tell you, it's not for me who just wants some fresh chocolate croissants in the morning. It's too difficult for the price. I was happy to see the amount of chocolate, which is more than the William Sonoma version.Date published: 2019-06-21Rated 5 out of 5 by JessB from Nothing like warm chocolate croissants! These are so delicious! They are easy to bake and so yummy! It is hard to resist the temptation to bite into them the minute they come out of the oven, but waiting a few minutes is necessary as the chocolate stays hot longer than the flaky outside :) I highly recommend these!Date published: 2018-11-16
