- Enamel can chip or crack if dropped or banged on hard surface.
- Allow pan to cool before washing.
- Dishwasher safe.
- Avoid using steel wool, steel scouring pads, harsh detergents or abrasive cleansers.
- Stubborn food residue and stains can be removed with a nylon scrubbing pad or sponge.

For an additional charge of $26 per address, we can expedite delivery to most destinations. Orders received by 9:00 p.m. ET Monday through Thursday will arrive the next business day; orders placed Friday through Sunday will arrive on the following Tuesday.

The first Le Creuset foundry opened in 1925 in Fresnoy-le-Grand, France, and specialized in cast-iron cookware. The cast-iron pieces are still made at the original factory, using the traditional techniques of hand forging and casting in individual sand molds. The brightly pigmented porcelain-enamel glaze that first set Le Creuset cookware apart from other cast-iron cookware now comes in a wide range of traditional and contemporary colors. In 2013, Le Creuset began producing innovative stainless-steel cookware in Portugal with lids that incorporate the same signature three-ring design as the company’s classic cast-iron pieces. This stainless-steel collection was awarded the prestigious 2014 Red Dot Award for product design.

I love them both but the 13inch version is spectacular. It's the Le Creuset version of the cast iron skillet that my mom and grandma had - Meaning that it is huge, but beautiful and maintenance free. I just received the 13 inch version and it just may be my favorite piece (of too many pieces of LC). I will use it for frying (of course) but also for a giant cornbread, second LC paella / Jambalaya pan, stir fry pan etc. The deep sides are awesome for the obvious cooking reasons but it also allows me to see more of the exterior color and I really love that. Last, the black interiors are terrific for browning. I really like the original skillets too but had always wished they were deeper. I was waiting to get the cast iron skillet and finally bought it early this month in lapis. You can imagine my surprise and disappointment when after I used the skillet twice, the satin finish was splotchy and the blue enamel faintly showed through in spots. I never used a heat higher than medium in both cooking situations and cleaned out with a soft sponge. I am writing this review to let you know that this can happen and don't toss your packaging until you have used this skillet more than just a few times. I won't stop buying le creuset, but I shall be more cautious!
