- More about Le Creuset
The first Le Creuset foundry opened in 1925 in Fresnoy-le-Grand, France, and specialized in cast-iron cookware. The cast-iron pieces are still made at the original factory, using the traditional techniques of hand forging and casting in individual sand molds. The brightly pigmented porcelain-enamel glaze that first set Le Creuset cookware apart from other cast-iron cookware now comes in a wide range of traditional and contemporary colors. In 2013, Le Creuset began producing innovative stainless-steel cookware in Portugal with lids that incorporate the same signature three-ring design as the company’s classic cast-iron pieces. This stainless-steel collection was awarded the prestigious 2014 Red Dot Award for product design.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Greener Mom Mom from Great looking and cooking deep skillet I purchased this skillet about a month ago to make baked beans in. I usually use black cast iron skillet and wanted one with color. This is my second Le Creuset purchase and I am very pleased. The skillet cooked evenly and was easy to clean. It was expensive but I splurged to have such a pretty, and functional skillet.Date published: 2019-07-24Rated 5 out of 5 by Rhonda from Love this skillet I have a large family so had been looking for a large cast iron skillet. I purchased the 13”. And I can make enough fried potatoes to feed my family of six in this skillet. Saving my money for another one.Date published: 2019-04-12Rated 5 out of 5 by Seasidej from Weighty, Yet Wonderful While I can barely lift this weighty skillet, it does an excellent job of evenly browning meat and cooking at a consistent temperature. I don't think it is deep enough to label as a deep skillet. The depth is comparable to my other similar-sized skillet. Cleans easily. You can never go wrong with Le Creuset. BTW, does anyone know if William Sonoma have the recipe for the fritata in the picture? I have never seen a fritata so thick and fluffyDate published: 2015-09-04Rated 5 out of 5 by batlitt from Cast Iron Deep skillet I have used this almost everyday since I bought it. LOVE IT!!!Date published: 2015-07-24Rated 5 out of 5 by MsHarrisoninPTC from Love this deep skillet I have the 12 inch and 13 inch versions of this skillet. I love them both but the 13inch version is spectacular. It's the Le Creuset version of the cast iron skillet that my mom and grandma had - Meaning that it is huge, but beautiful and maintenance free. I just received the 13 inch version and it just may be my favorite piece (of too many pieces of LC). I will use it for frying (of course) but also for a giant cornbread, second LC paella / Jambalaya pan, stir fry pan etc. The deep sides are awesome for the obvious cooking reasons but it also allows me to see more of the exterior color and I really love that. Last, the black interiors are terrific for browning. I really like the original skillets too but had always wished they were deeper. Tks WS and LC for this offering.Date published: 2014-11-08
What's the difference between the Deep Skillet and Fry Pan? The 12 inch diam Deep Skillet is 1/4" higher but 11 oz lighter according to the website dimensions and I am trying to understand and select the right product for me.Hi tictactoe, The main difference between the skillet and the fry pan is the weight. The skillets are slightly thinner cast iron molds, which is why they weigh less.Date published: 2019-07-15
Do you have the recipe for the frittata? i would like to get it if I could. it looks very delicious!!!Hi patty15, Apologies that it took us this long to locate the recipe. It's actually not a frittata but cornbread. Here is the recipe: https://www.williams-sonoma.com/recipe/gluten-free-skillet-corn-bread.htmlDate published: 2019-05-20
Do you know what size pan is used in the video?Hi Sandy, We believe it's a 13" skillet. Sorry, this video was shot numerous years ago and the records are no longer available.Date published: 2019-02-14
Where can I find the skillet cover in the video?Hi Roon, Unfortunately, we no longer offer that particular splatter screen in our assortment. We have these other options online: https://www.williams-sonoma.com/shop/cooks-tools/splatter-screensDate published: 2018-12-31
Is this skillet good for cooking steak at high temps?Hi Roon, Cast iron skillets tend to be the best for searing steaks because it’s naturally nonstick, it retains heat wonderfully, and the material gives a better sear than a stainless steel pan.Date published: 2019-03-22
