Instant Pot Split Pea Soup Starter

Our time-saving starter makes it easy to cook up a hearty pot of homemade split pea soup – even on the busiest weeknights. Created by our Test Kitchen chefs especially for the Instant Pot, this premium starter blends green peas, carrots and onions with aromatic garlic and thyme. Just combine with water and olive oil, then pressure cook for 15 minutes.

Split Pea Soup Recipe
1 jar soup starter
6 cups (1.5 l) water
1 Tbs extra-virgin olive oil
Kosher salt and freshly ground pepper
Combine the soup starter, water and olive oil in an Instant Pot. Lock the lid in place, seal and set to cook at high pressure for 15 minutes. When pressure cooking is complete, let the pressure release naturally for 10 minutes, then quick release the remaining steam. Carefully remove the lid. Using an immersion blender, blend the soup to your desired consistency. Let sit until slightly thickened, 5 to 10 minutes. Season with salt and pepper and serve.
