I was confused my that last question. So it does need to be refrigerated or no?Actually, Juls, butter is fine not refrigerated for up to one month. If you go through it fairly quickly, you can leave it out on the counter or in a cupboard.Date published: 2019-08-26
Can this be used to keep butter on the counter? The summary says can be used to keep butter in the refrigerator. Wasnt sure if that meant only the refrigerator or if it was safe to use on the counter as well.Hi jbcalvin0227, This butter keeper doesn't work the same way as a traditional butter crock. With a butter crock, you would pack 1/2 a stick of butter into the well in the underside of the butter keeper's cover. You then add about 1" cold water to the base. Place the lid into the base; the butter is now sealed from air by the water. You leave the butter keeper out on your counter or table for fresh, spreadable butter. This is an example of a traditional butter crock: https://www.williams-sonoma.com/products/marble-butter-dish/Date published: 2019-02-13
